MIKE MALASKA - the COMPLETE instructor, CLEAR CONCISE COMPLETE!
@Shizi74 ай бұрын
I’ve seen these videos in passing for many years, but I only started studying his videos in the past month. These videos have changed my game. He has a great golf swing and he knows how to teach it. I noticed that most of his videos are 2 years or older. Is he still in the game? I have played around 90 for several years with an occasional 84 thrown in. Over the weekend, I was on pace to break 80 until my group was rained out on the 13th hole. We have one player who we say plays boring golf , but this week I earned that distinction because I hit fairways, greens and putted well. Your videos were the reason. I have to work on my short game, but my game improved because of better ball striking thanks to you.

Mr. Malska is the BEST instructor out there! I have taken lessons with 10 plus of the best "Top 100" golf instructors over the past 20 years trying to improve my game... I started this past year and a half with Mike Malaska's concepts for full swing and short game. Full swing results have resulted in me achieving that coveted "effortless power" in the full swing vs. "powerless effort". I have gone from an index of 16.2 to 5.2 on a home course slope rating of 132. I am 55 years old and am truly enjoying making birdies and having fun competitively at my club and other courses nationally now. THANK YOU for sharing your wisdom and instruction on KZbin Mr. Malaska!!! :-)

I can't tell you what a difference your teaching has made for me. I have gone from being scared of shanking to stepping up and hitting a draw with no worries. For me, the simple swing thought of "handle down-club head out" makes golf fun again. Lag becomes automatic, my hips open automatically without thought, and I have gotten distance back that I lost from being a handle dragger. My biggest problem is that I love to teach and help others. When I'm at the driving range I want to help everyone. They don't know how much easier it can be. Thanks for what you and your team do! It has made a huge difference for me.

Excellent just discovered Mike's teaching. I've played golf of and on for decades but simply couldn't get it. I am good at other sports, baseball, tennis, cricket, table tennis, and have good hand to eye coordination. But Golf I didn't play because it was painful you just couldn't get any progress and no one seemed able to help with lots of advice that seemed contradictory. Mike's approach clears that up in about 5 minutes. I can actually start to enjoy the game and actually make progress. When I go to the range for practice I mentally have Mike in my mind telling be shallow the hands and run the club into the ball. Obviously I make mistakes, but I know what I am trying to do and I just simply cannot state how great a difference that makes

I'm so happy i can't thank Mike enough because by watching all Malaska vid + (Malaska videos from Eric Cogorno and Be Better golf channel) I evolved from hitting all wrongly ( take away to inside, unhinging scooping flipping turning hips "ole" movement and moving up 👉classic amateur mistakes) to hitting like the pro's. Took me abt 8 months but I finally figured it out 💯🏆🥳 his hands down club head out concept and transition. Obs: it cost me abt 4 months to realize my club face was too shut. Had to be much more open like Tiger's to do this concept. Once I realize that, I just had to focus in the hands/forearm down to create tremendous amount of club head speed and get that correct angle of entry. The complete body movement/transition I figured it out in 2 months by watching the transition series vids with Mike and Eric. Never paid for a golf lesson. Just watched all Malaska videos. It's good stuff. Really Really good.

I have always had somewhat of a slice, after listening to Mike talk about it is the moment of impact that determines what direction the ball will go. I did his drill of bringing your club to the moment of impact, YES I can finally control my shot to a better degree, Thanks Mike.

Mike implied that his entire teaching method is based on Jack Nicklaus twirling the club head. Once anyone teaches themselves to twirl the club head in front of them in a full circle and then apply it to their actual swing ; they are well on the way to applying everything else Mike talks about. Twirl the club head is my only swing thought for the rest of my life. All the other garbage of shallowing the club and so forth is out of my thoughts forever. Thank you Mike and Jack and even Ed Merrin who years ago explained to Jack Nicolaus how to swing the handle to feel the weight and the path of the club head traveling in a circular motion midway to the ball and through to the finish. Cheers

Any man who shaves 20 strokes off my game in 2 days i will thumb every video he has. What a dang foundation to build from. That hip video and release like a sane person vid saved me. I released that way the 1st time i ever swung a club and the golf channel had me trying to time a flip flop release at 100mph forever it feels like. In 2 days i hit my irons like i always dreamed of instead of being scared the balls gona feel like a rock and go 60 feet. I have found iron flush nirvana now.

Thank you Mike for a great Q&A session. It really cleared up a few things for me, especially regarding how to stop the toe of the club getting out and over the heel. I presume the "pivot point" you refer to is not the body pivot, but the sort of pivot of the hands counter-clockwise roughly opposite your right shoulder area as you keep the right shoulder back (keep your back to the target a fraction longer).

Brilliant video Mike. One day at practice, I found that magic "let the momentum do the work". Probably one of the most joyous experiences I've had in golf. I wasn't hitting the ball as far as I usually do, but, it was straighter and felt sooo much more fluid and "sweet". Unfortunately I am having problems getting that feeling back and it is harder to hit my longer irons this way. Keep the great videos coming!

Mike, I'm hoping you can do a video explaining your philosophy on the transition movement and how it corresponds with the hands down clubhead put action. I find at times I get caught too much on my back foot when I get the handle working down while keeping the right shoulder back. The general advice is the work the left knee towards the target to start the transition but I find this encourages the right shoulder the work out towards the ball.

Mike, thank you so much for your great instruction. You have a great talent for putting it into understandable terms and feels. I just found you recently and am applying your principles. I've hit some of the purest shots in my golfing life. I've never heard you talk about staying behind the ball into and just beyond impact but many instructors tout this as essential to consistent ball striking. It seems to help me and I've been working on it but now the right side of my low back is killing me (I'm right handed). I've had the tendency to get over the top and your swing technique, if done properly, will take care of that. Could you possibly talk to this "stay behind the ball" maxim? Am I way out of bounds. Thanks again for all your great instruction.!

Thanks so much for clarifying the point about not isolating muscle groups. I am still in the process of building solid workout routines. Currently it is a lot of body weight circuits, dynamic stretches, isometric(for joint and tendon strength), also weighted swings(not a weighted club rather hand weights, wrist weights, arm weights. I believe that training should be harder than reality so wouldn't a weighted shirt, shorts, etc. Be ideal for full range of motion strength building? Not full speed but full range of motion in sets? Thanks again for your amazing videos. With so much false information your truths instantly stand out. Thanks for doing what you do and all the effort to explain and simplify it.

The downside is that I'm long to begin with Now I've gained so much more distance, was hitting a 58 degree wedge 120 carry, previously that was my 105 carry club. I've never struck the ball better then I did today. Best explanation of a golf swing ever at least for us hockey players, lol.

Hi Mike, Thanks for this video, I'm hoping there are more to come, wanted to let you know that bc of your concepts of offsetting forces and how you're constantly pushing away, how to not try and turn on the transition with your right shoulder and how to hit the golf ball like a slap shot in hockey especially with how they clear their right leg sweeping back I'be gone from shooting 103+ to 87 2-3 rounds in a row now. I'm also getting amazing contact and club head speed with my 150 yard club now being my 9i sometimes even my PW instead of my 7i and I'm only 5'8 140 lbs lol. Truly appreciate your work, I bought your book a year ago but these videos really do help supplement the material.

Mike, this interaction is great and much appreciated. I have a question. Here you explained how inappropriate use of the right shoulder and arm can close the face. My question relates to your Golf Tennis Racket Lesson video. In that video the lady you were teaching initially closed the face not with her right shoulder/arm, but with turning of her hands/wrists. It looked to me that the move she made was the same movement that you demonstrated with the turning of the 'wheel'/racket. Yet it produced an error. When i try to employ that wheel turning move i do exactly what she did. I clearly haven't understood the move! Please help.

Hello Mike. My question is about the all important club/ball impact. I really get and try to visualise that illusive moment. At the moment I am trying the throw the right hand at the club. I am very right hand dominated. To the point where my left feels useless in comparison. Everybody tells me that my left hand leads the golf swing. I put my glove on my left hand, as I have been told. This goes against everything my body/brain wants to do. Is it possible to play right handed golf? At impact if I go one handed, my right hand is accurate. The left is comical.

Mike, today I was hoping to build on the momentum of last weekend's golfing. I was working on trying to make the downswing pivot outside of my right hip (I am right handed). Mike, when I turn the heel in and as you've said, your hands feel like they float and go along for the ride, it is a smooth and effortless movement. However, when I do that I can't get the club head back to the ball. It always floats well above the ball. In order to get the club back to the ball I have developed this violent throw down to the ball which has started to hurt my left wrist. there must be some focal point well behind the ball where the hands and grip cross one another and the head of the club passes your hands to make impact with the ball. Can you elaborate?
