Malawi Media and Rights Watchdogs Decry Surge in Attacks on Journalists

Malawi media and human rights watchdogs say that despite making strides, three years ago, to repeal some laws that infringed on media freedom the country is still witnessing growing levels of threats and arrests of journalists. As the country prepares for next year’s general elections, many journalists fear a crackdown on freedom of the press. VOA’s Jamal Prince Jamal reports from Lilongwe.
