I am the eldest grandson of Dr.JC Daniel. I can understand little Malayalam. If I understand correctly, this fellow is stating Dr JC Daniel's father's name as Somasundaram 😂. His name is Dr Gnanabaranam Joseph Daniel. He did his medicine in Calcutta & England & was the Chief Medical Officer of erstwhileile Trivancore & also the personal physician of the Royal family. Dr Gnanabaranam Joseph's father was Joseph N. Daniel & was Headmaster in Changanachery. His tomb is there & being maintained by my second cousins settled in Kerala. What else this person yells, I can't understand much & don't care. Just like he lied about the name of my Great grandfather, everything else also should be lies. As a descendent of Daniels of Agasteeswaram, it is my duty to clarify.

Sir , have you seen the Malayalam movie Celluloid based on the life of Jc Daniel sir ??…in the last of that movie it’s shown as after becoming a dentist, Daniel sir is going to madras to do a movie with Superstar Chinnappa as the lead actor and not succeeding in that and becoming total failure and bankrupt….And afterwards it’s seen as Daniel sir and wife living with full of poverty and constraints….Is that all true incidents or is it a fabricated story in the movie ??….I just wanted to know

@@SJ-pj2vs Thank you for your interest. My grandfather Dr JC Daniel did his dental course after the failure of the movie. He practiced in various places in Tamilnadu including Madurai. My grandmother Rachel Janet was the first woman in Madurai to drive a car. Later before he was affected with stroke he was practicing in Neyattinkara. After that my grandparents lived in the palace like house in Agasteeswaram. My grandfather expired during 1975. I was 24 at that time. My grandparents were never in poverty as shown in the movie. Late Congress MP, Mr Vasanthakumar, who also hail from Agasteeswaram, made a documentary on his Vasanth TV channel with real facts. I spent 2 years with my grandparents during my school days. My grandmother was with my parents before shifting to Trivandrum to be with her third daughter. She expired during 1993.

@@SJ-pj2vs I forgot to mention about PU Chinnappa, who was a Tamil superstar then. When my grandfather was practicing in Madurai Chinnappa was his patient. When Chinnappa learnt about the failure in the movie project, he advised to try for a talkie in Tamil. Again his interest was kindled & not healing to the objections of my grandmother & his brothers, he sold his land holdings & other properties in Nagercoil & invested. Again even before starting it failed. He lost only his portion of the properties. He continued dentistry after that & continued till his one half of the body got affected by stroke. The family house at Agasteeswaram named Puduveedu was constructed by his father Dr NJ Daniel while he was the Chief Medical Officer of Trivancore (he did his medicine in England). The house was huge & I was there for 2 years during my school days. My grandfather spent his last years in that house. Due to property disputes, the house was demolished during 1978 & partioned among the 7 brothers. My grandmother constructed a hose in her portion & 90% of the material was from the original house.
