My brother Shafrul was amongst the 6 MAS engineers who brought back the first B777 frm Seattle. However, passed away 3 mths ago aged 41. May ALLAH bless him in the afterlife.

Zillion thanks on putting this video. Really proud as a Malaysian and also x-staff MAS 1990-1996 in IT Dept. I enjoyed every single working day on it. Thumbs up to the company and all the staff. The thing about the cost cutting is that Idris Jala wants MAS to be the first "5 star airline with low cost". But before this, they were doing pretty well. Quite a considerable amount of profit.

From what I know, its the wiring. With 100,000 wires (330 miles of it in total) and 40,300 connectors, its very complex.

actually MAS is planning to cancel their orders of the A380. not to cut cost but due to its delays.. but no doubt MAS has been cutting cost to compete in the low cost range.. n btw MAS paycheck had been always good. a MAS captain earns abt RM20000 up to RM40000 depending on seniority.

Chaloemphon, even though i am a Singaporean and also support Singapore Airlines, i hate to compare whcih airlines is better, i think both SIA and MAS are equally good, after all both have been rated five star airlines by Skytrax.
