@@jackopcarson9549 A derecho is a long lived wind storm associated with a mesoscale convective system, which is a group of severe thunderstorms which can be round in pattern or linear (e.g. squall lines). The wind regime of a derecho is different from that of a tornado, as they are usually straight, hence the name (derecho is 'straight' in Spanish). Derechos are usually caused by the storm's leading gust front (signified by a shelf cloud), and can reach near hurricane force speed. While a downburst (microburst is the smaller version), is a sudden rush of downward moving cold air from a rupture at the base of a thunderstorm due to a downdraft, dan is blown in a radial pattern once it hits the ground, and it also may cause damage to some structures, as its speed can reach an approximate 240 km/h (equivalent to a Cat 4 typhoon) in some extreme cases. The wind pattern of a downburst is analogous to that of spilling a glass of water onto a flat surface. Ultimately, both derecho and downburst are classified as staight-line wind storms (SLWs) to differentiate them from tornadoes and typhoons.

馬來西亞 對全球暖化 所帶來的氣候衝擊 還沒有更周全的認知 營建曙應重新制定更高規格的建築法規 拉高建築物的強度與建築規範 現階段馬來西亞既存的建築物 許多是不足以對抗極端氣候的衝擊 至少一半建築物是沒有考慮 極端氣候衝擊 因為颱風級數的強風很少出現馬來西亞這個區域 當局應更積極去要求 建築物的強度 否則未來25年內 高強度的暴風還會常襲擊這個區域 。
