Saw this movie on t.v. as a kid, blew me away, fascinated by time travel ever since, by the way Malcolm and Mary Steenburgan actually fell in love and married during the making of the movie.

Cable TV back in 1981 and one of the first films was "Time after Time"- movie was brilliant, fun, stands up in 2021.

Close, but I think it was Jules Verne.

@@ColliCub she mentions H.g. wells when Emmet tries to explain that he is a time traveler, she had read that book. but earlier she had told him that she adorated Jules verne. I had gotten such a huge celebrity crush on Mary because of her because I saw Time after time in the movie theater when I was 13.
