I absolutely LOVE MMcD. Been following him since O LUCKY MAN...so quirky, so adorable back then. He has aged well, and now looks like his own father. Fine actor, still got his quirks, happy to note!

Not one thumbs down for this interview. Malcolm McDowell will always be one of my favorite actors. Check out his role as Reggie Wanker in "Get Crazy" which you can watch for free on You Tube.

Truly a most beautiful statement of reverence Malcolm McDowell paid to his elder mentors; "I'm always looking up to the Knights"

That's a great interview you did there Dave, it was awesome to hear those stories especially when he talks about how painful it was afterwards when he did the ludovico technique scene in Clockwork. Eye opening to say the least! (pun intended)

When I was a teenager A Clockwork Orange was the film everybody wanted to see, but it was a very difficult film to see because obviously it was never shown on tv-even years after it had left the theaters as was the case with other big screen films. It was never available in any of the video stores. It was such a violent, weird film that the only times I could see it is when it was rerun in theaters (I had wanted to see it since I was about ten, I almost got to see it when it played in a theater when I was 12, but I FINALLY saw it in the theater when I was 19 and loved it! It was a sacred kind of film. Today of course-compared to what kind of violent films are done now-A Clockwork Orange looks like The Huckleberry Hound Show! But thirty forty years ago it was considered the pinnacle of dystopian violence!

Love the way Malcolm always speaks rhapsodically about the expressionistic firecracker Cagney...McDowell also agrees with Welles, in that, "you're only as good as you DARE to be bad". No risk...no growth, in other words...

"Time After Time" was the first of his films that I saw as a wee lad. Coincidentally, it was one of the films that was reviewed on the first episode of "Sneak Previews" w/ Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert that I ever watched .

J-London M He had a great Yorkshire accent once. I was born not far from Malcolm, where some of his family still live now, but yes, he's kind of losing his British accent here.
@marksimons41089 күн бұрын
Yes but he moved to Liverpool as a young boy as he had family there too! which is where his love for the arts came from and he was exposed to the merseybeat phenomena seeing the beatles at the cavern club before the world knew who they where! so his accent can shift from yorkshire lilt and sometimes he almost sounds like George Harrison with a scouse twang!
