This clip misses out my favourite scene between these two where they reach an agreement, “contain the toxicity, Chernobyl FM”, then proceed to leave and have a fairly friendly exchange as actual human beings. Love the ending to this episode.

More like they both decline out of fear of mutually assured destruction. Both him and Stewart have enough dirt on each other's party to completely destroy the entire two-party political system, which they don't want, as it would have them both out of a job.

"Veep," though more punch line joke based rather than straight-faced mockumentary and takes a swipe at American politics, was from the same creator as "The Thick of It," Armando Iannucci. "Veep" is savage too. The actors, like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, would come up with a lot of their own mad lib insults and try to out verbally bitch slap each other. Bloody brilliant! I love both of his shows.

T Smith I’d think it would be more because many have realised that it’s not just a group of out of touch and manipulative political elites that cause societies problem’s, as the thick of it, and indeed your comment, could be seen to suggest. It’s more that the entirety of society is crooked from the ground up, and any one claiming to represent the “common man” usually turns out to be even worse, using their (usually quite shaky) popular mandate as an excuse to cut down on political pluralism in government, because it’s the “people’s will.” I’d actually prefer Malc to some populist demagogue any day of the week. As shown in this episode, he is willing to compromise, rather than stick fast to an ideological grand plan.
