I’ve watched the entire funeral once before… very hard to watch seeing Angus in what is understandably a state of grief. It’s definitely not the Angus we’re used to seeing, that’s for sure… which IS heartbreaking given the circumstances. With Angus… life suddenly become a big joke whenever he’s present. That wasn’t the case in this situation It’s the same thing with Brian, Cliff, Phil, and Malcolm’s son. To see that the entire band was at the funeral says a lot about the others as well. I don’t know this for sure, but I don’t think David Lee Roth was at Edward’s funeral. Seeing how he’s been publicly bashing his son, Wolf, as of lately on his podcast says MUCH about his character

I can’t believe it’s been nearly 4 years already. Since the loss of George and Malcolm. I remember this day exactly, I remember I had just woken up, my phone was on my charger beside my bed, and I never hardly check my phone as soon as I wake up except for the weather, and as soon as I pick it up that raise to wake thing? It lights up and tells me Malcolm Young dead at 64. My heart just completely dropped to my stomach because I remember 23 days before hand George passed away. And I immediately thought about Angus. And how heartbroken he must be. And then I got up and got dressed for about two or three weeks I could not stop crying. Even though I didn’t know them. I cried for both of them. It’s like we get to know them through their music. Even if it is dirty mean loud and clean? It’s music that you want to hear. It’s music that you want your children to hear. I’m proud to have lived in an era where AC/DC made music. And I remember when I was 10 years old black ice came out. You could not get that album out of my CD player. I couldn’t get replacement batteries every time the batteries died fast enough. I had begged my mother to get me some rechargeable batteries just for that. And then when I got my first iPhone? You can bet on it that The first thing I downloaded music wise? Was AC/DC. I have heard every single song dating all the way back to when Bon Scott was alive! Now? Bon, Malcolm and George along with several other amazing rockers? Are up there in rock n roll heaven drinking Angel whiskey and playing their instruments. And looking over us new generation rockers. I have wanted to learn the guitar for a while. I’m not very good at it but I’m still learning. When Malcolm passed away that was the kick in the ass I needed. Please excuse my language but my father also wanted to be a guitar player, sadly he passed away last year on Malcolm‘s birthday. Cancer took him. I like to think they are up there together talking about how great the glory days of rock ‘n’ roll was! My dad had six kids, that’s why he never got to carry out his dream of being a musician. So I am taking it upon myself to pursue his dream plus I have always wanted to be a guitar player. Ever since I was a little girl. I don’t know why I never got lessons. Right as I had the money to do it this stupid pandemic started. Hopefully next year I will have enough money saved up to get some lessons. I’m also going to learn the keyboard. I know that’s not as cool but my sister had one and I think it looks cool, and it sounds cool. I’m the first kid in my family and the only girl that never wanted to be a police officer or in the military and I’m not disrespecting either or I’m just saying I never wanted to be in any kind of regular job kind of like Angus. I wanted to be just like my dad. And hopefully very similar to Angus and Malcolm. But nobody and I know this and I emphasize that nobody can bang out the riffs to ANY AC/DC song like Angus or Malcolm! Rock in peace Malcolm, and George Young and Bon Scott! And thank you for giving us the greatest band ever! The last thing I wanted to say? Was when my friend sent me the link to Foo Fighters paying a tribute to Malcolm ? I remember I was having dinner with my family at Bob Evans restaurant, I had to go to the bathroom ironically and as soon as I seen that I just couldn’t help it but break down in tears. Because we lost the best rhythm player that ever lived that day. But he lives on in heaven, and he lives on through us the fans. Then when I seen the funeral pictures? I really melted down. Especially Angus at the back of the hearse? I would have loved to have been able to give him a big hug right there.

Angus had lot of kind words to say about Ed when he made his statement. And I know that Ed loved the hell out of some AC/DC and even turned his son, Wolf, onto them. In fact, I remember Wolf showing off photos of his signature Malcolm Young 1963 Gretsch copy that he had bought. He said he ordered one the moment he found out that Gretsch was making so many of the exact copies, which had the missing pickups and all the same scratches and wear as Malcolm’s original ‘63 I don’t think David Lee Roth even attended Ed’s funeral. I could be wrong, but don’t think I am. Especially considering how all Dave has been doing lately is talking shit on Wolf as part of his podcast show, which shows a lack of class on his part. Sammy claims he visited Ed one last time and they smoothed everything out from the past… but a somewhat reliable source told me that was BS, and that Sam never made an effort But who knows… only they will e er know

Yes he was. I loved hearing him play guitar. I loved hearing him do interviews. Which I know he didn’t do very many but I loved Malcolm. As much as I do Angus. They’re the literal dynamic duo. You simply cannot think about one without the other coming to your mind. I just loved those guys my whole life.

Me, a fourty year old man, sitting in front of my computer and crying my heart out while writing these words. Crying like it just happened yesterday. Crying like it was one of my own family members who passed away. I never met this wonderful man and still he was there all my life through his music. Words can not describe the grieve I still feel after seven years. I wish all who read these lines deal better with death than I do.

What's with the Marine Hymn at his funeral?
@Lawdog8456 ай бұрын
That also caught my attention, I don’t think it was played at his funeral, it was just what the person who made this KZbin video put on as the soundtrack. I would agree that they probably should’ve chosen some Scottish bagpipe songs, instead of choosing the Marine Corps hymn

Very interesting, but I’m not sure why bagpipes are continually playing the Marine Corps hymn. Since he was a citizen of Australia, and had nothing to do with the United States Marines, but whatever.
