President Mohamed Muizzu of the Maldives has asked Indian troops stationed in the country to leave by March 15. The Indian troops helped with rescue & reconnaissance operations. Muizzu picked a side for Maldives. Usually tourism-dependent countries prefer a relatively neutral stance like Jamaica or Vanuatu. I think this is a major transition for Maldives, trying to be self-dependent or atleast india-independent. This stance is stemming purely from religious views rather than any objective merit. Even if Muizzu and his supporters pick a side, majority of the workforce in Maldives share a cordial relationship with Indians. Nearly all of Maldivian doctors, soldiers and senior bureaucrats are trained in India or are Indians. Indian managers hold important positions is many resorts across the islands. We should keep this relationship of 100s of years and not fall prey to the petty mindsets who try to divide India from Maldives, whether it is Muizzu or Yameen. India shouldn't leave station at Maldives as it is is strategically important for us, let Muizzu face the parliament and enact a majority bill to send Indian troops away and then we'll see. We have millions of rupees invested in the country by loans, business relations, Indian firms taking up infrastructure projects and as such. They will all be at the mercy of Muizzu and China once India leaves the islands. Till everything is cleared, India should hold ground in Maldives - imo.

India is not able to build bridges in the deep sea, strong current & strong wind. Their first day, the bridge building group of india came to maldives, they were diving under the chinese built bridge, took photos & videos of the sizes of columns &the structure for 10 days. It seems that they don't know how to build bridges in the deep sea. This is dangerous. We see every day on tv that collapsing bridges they built in india in shallow & calm water. These thing are sickening indian bridge building group did. Other thing is that these workers strike & fight fcons every other day about food. Claiming that they provided expired & rotten food for them. They're not fed well. Even if they get sick, never see a doctor & just ignored. So think about how the work is gonna be when the workers are in this horrible situation. The chinese did a bridge, but we've never seen such horrible inhuman things. This is sickening. That's why maldives must contact china to do such technical works which india is incapable to do. Without knowing nothing you're spreading hatred. So disgusting.
