I had a female for a few decades while my uncle had her brother. She was more outgoing and up front with who she wasn't happy with (human or otherwise) but earlier while I was walking around,I encountered a male chi who informed me not to get near his yard! Everyone is different! Mine did get an encounter with a bird of prey that quietly got her,but the bird was older and she was enough of a handful to get dropped! Her brother did not even bother with people he didn't know,but bravery can be double edged.

It sounds like you’ve had quite an experience with your chihuahua! It’s fascinating how different personalities can be even within the same breed. Love their outgoing nature and assertiveness. Her brother seems to have a more reserved approach, just goes to show you how diverse their temperaments could be. Thanks for sharing, if you had to get another dog breed which one will you get. Given Chihuahuas can live up to 20 years🙂

@DearDogs-lovers Peanut passed at 21 years old, they are certainly a long term investment before you might end up losing a very old friend.

@@cheetobuzz I am so sorry to hear about Peanut, also I am so sorry I didn’t give my condolences in my previous message. Losing a pet is never easy, but I can tell Peanut had the Best, most Beautiful live with you, and you have many countless cherished memories. Wow! 21 years is certainly a long term investment. When you think of their enormous heart , and their incredibly intuitive and protective personality, that bold confidence and fearless attitude. I think we could all use a little chihuahua personality in us :) By the way I absolutely Love, love the name Peanut 💖 If you feel like sharing more about Peanut, I would love to hear some of the unique & funny moments you shared together:)

My first chihuahua was VERY protective of me. She NEVER LEFT MY SIDE!!!! That's how protective she was of me. AND SHE ONLY WEIGHED 5 LBS!!!!! Crazy right?!?! But to answer your (the narrator's ) question, I've only had female dogs. And one male dog. I had to put my male dog down, at an early age because he had bad lungs😭😭😭. BUT I prefer female dogs.
