Shoutout to whoever at Colourpop decided to name two shades “come on” and “let’s go party.” I see that Aqua “Barbie Girl” nod and I appreciate it. I did have Barbies growing up, but I’m definitely more interested in it now for my little nieces (5 going on 16 and 3). My wife accuses me of having an entire Barbie aisle in their playroom, and she’s not wrong. I love how they’re expanding the range to have deeper skin tones, dolls in wheelchairs, some with limb differences, etc. It’s way more inclusive than when I was little, and the more I can normalize that for them, the better IMO. I was a Barbie fanatic as a kid. Do not collect as an adult though. I had 30 barbies at one point. The house and the car and Ken. My mom was single mom and we did not have money. I only got them for birthdays and Christmas. Now I see how she sacrificed to provide me with beloved toys.

I was an only child so I spent a lot of time playing alone. I loved Barbies and I inherited a lot of barbie clothes from my mom. I will say I was much more into the Polly Pocket Fashion Dolls with the rubber/silcone clothing. When they came out I dropped most of my other dolls and was into those.

I'm currently a doll collector and Barbie has always been one of my favorites for her iconic looks and legacy so I'm in love with this collection. I think it's much more barbie than the pur collaborations Barbie has done, and the malibu theme is adorable. I only got the palette and the mirror but I'm obsessed so I think I might have to grab the highlighter and one of the lip kits. Great video as always!

I loved my Barbie’s. My sister and I played for hours on end. Easily my favorite toy. My palette arrived broken and I was so sad 😭. They finally shipped replacements, but I was really surprised that both of my items were broken. Colourpop usually does a really good job on shipping. I’ve never had anything broken from them before. But I’m liking circus act Barbie! 💖 I think I’ll try the yellow and pink together. They look so pretty! 😍

I bought the makeup in this collection and I love the colors and cute packaging. I really liked Barbie growing up. I played with legos too, but Barbie had a special place in my heart. I even got a subscription to a Barbie magazine when I was a little older. I had a real fascination with pretty dolls in general.

I had a bunch of Barbies. I often cut and colored their hair, added makeup with markers. They went swimming in the bathtub, they lived together in a shoe box, one was mean and one was too nice and one was a balance (I played with them in threes for some reason). Never had the car or house, I made extra clothes with my mom’s fabric scraps. Never had an official “Malibu” Barbie. But my 8 year old self definitely converted them into crazy clown punk new wave independent girls!!

I was the kid who was a dainty tomboy. I had older brothers and mostly male cousins, so I got a lot of their hand-me-downs. My Barbies rode in style to our mud-pie tea parties in Tonka trucks because she was too badass (and my family was too poor) for her to drive in a regular Barbie dream car. And when I say mud-pies, I mean that I was the kid who filled a bucket from our water pump and hauled it to the giant pile of dirt in the backyard so I could make those chunky mud-pies. My teacups were old plastic reusable McDonalds cups. When I got older, however, I'd play Barbies only for the sake of setting up house. I didn't do anything after that. It took so long to get her house to be perfect, so by the time that was done, I didn't want to mess it up. LOL

Mid '60's Barbie here. My Barbie's had a Briar horse, a car I made out of the box she came in, a two story house in a low attic closet furnished with found bits in a low attic closet, some bought clothes, and my first attempts at sewing. I remember feeling sad and disloyal when I knew I had outgrown them.

I had a Barbie and being arty, crafty even as a kid, became her hairdresser one day and gave her a new "do", needless to say, it was hacked, short, and was so upset I got another one. I knitted her a few outfits and used to style her hair, this time no cutting, lol. I wasn't obsessed with Barbie but did enjoy playing with her now and then. Angie, I love when you do your colourful eye looks but love when you incorporate the outer corner with either neutrals or very dark colours as that's how I love to do my eyes and get so much inspiration from you. Let me say I really enjoy hearing all about your life and lifestyle etc. I live on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia but my dad who also has passed was Polish and I look like him, light olive skin, blonde hair but he had beautiful blue eyes and I got green that sometimes change to grey/blue. I am so in love with everything Northern European and adore the food which I cook occasionally and always have salami, mortadella, cheeses, Rye bread etc. Whenever we get out of this panini and can travel, my destination is Poland to see all my relatives plus all of Northern Europe plus France, Italy. Malibu Barbie was the only Barbie I had as a kid, so I jumped on this collection. I’m really enjoying the eyeshadow palette & have been using it often. The light pink shimmer vintage doll is my favorite shade. I also got the highlighter, it’s too deep for my skin tone, so I’ve been using it as an eyeshadow topper.

I love the eye-look, it looks so gorgeous; the pink lipstick does suit you, hopefully you find one with a better quality, though. I did play with Barbies, I had all sorts of them: the usual knock-offs, then came Anastasia, Ken and others, I had quite a collection and I wasn't even an avid fan of the franchise. It's just was the times, you know, the nities, there was financial depression in Finland when we were kind of forced to move here, so we didn't have much. Stuffed animals were and are my thing even now but my most beloved toys were my books. I know, they're not toys but to me they are, they amuse me, teach me things and are my constant companion to this day and age. Sometimes I dabble in computer games but they're not so interesting to me, I rather watch a drama or a movie instead - or lot of YT videos like yours. And Estonian crosswords, those are my jam; I always buy a lot of them whenever I'm in Estonia and finish them from cover to cover and move to the next one.

This is a really pretty and fun color story. I totally understand why people think the packaging is really cute; it is definitely on brand for Barbie. However, personally, if i was going to get this, the first thing i would do is depot the palette. I just feel like i could not take it seriously, because it really does look like a prop for Barbie dolls. 🌺💙💛🌴

I had an older brother and played with a lot of his old toys (my favorites were Hot Wheels haha) before I caught up to him and learned Nintendo video games , but I also was into dolls. I think it’s because we were so far apart in age that sometimes it feels like we were raised “like an only child” who tend to be more imaginative. I had Barbies, Bratz, MyScene, Polly Pockets and American Girl dolls haha. Into it all really! I’d definitely be into the nostalgia of Colourpop doing a Bratz collab especially if they did it better than MUR 👀

I had lots of barbies and Ken's, alot of accessories like the corvette and some sets. We disnt have much money or many toys either, but barbie was my thing. My friends wanted to come over to house for the barbies, but I just wanted to go to my friend Jenny's house, bc she had the my little pony's on lock and I didn't have any. My brothers big ones were transformers, TMNT, gi Joe's and legos. They would play barbies with me though, we all played together also with our cousins our entire childhoods, spent alot of time outside too. Didnt get this palette though cuz its just not my colors, and I'm over cp and I just dont care.

On the Colourpop train: what you guys think about “going coconuts” and “thats taupe”. I am willing to pay European taxes to have a cool toned palette so it has to be the right choice 😬 Angie can make any color story the stunniest as it can be 🌈

I prefer that’s taupe because the colors are a bit richer for my medium- tan skin. I can totally make going coconuts work though!

I have Going Coconuts so I don't need both but it is my all time fave neutral palette. It's great for light to medium skin tones. I think the That's Taupe is great for deeper skin tones but both of them are great everyday options!

I am so happy to see you do this review! I bought the palette and Dream House lip set as soon as I saw it announced. I had the Malibu Barbie this is based on and they really nailed it with this color story and the packaging. The influence of that particular Barbie is obvious- her eyes, her swimsuit, her skin, her lips.. those are the colors in the palette. I loved playing with Barbies but Ken wasn't important to me either. My Barbie was interested in fashion and always had a job- I had a knockoff Barbie office playset.

I didn’t have a Barbie. One of my friends had tons of Barbie stuff though. She had Barbies that had wigs that you could dye different colors - supercool. I liked my “Liddle Kiddles” dolls a lot. I’m “old” so very few here will know what those were. Love circus Barbie!

i played with barbies sometimes, but i had a rug with 2d roads and houses, that i would play with hot wheels on :) i also played with legos a lot as well, probably the most out of everything
