This was amazing. I always considered OSes some master level technique which required 20,000 frame perfect inputs in the space of a second, reserved only for top level tourney goers. I'm not a very good player by any definition, but this not only simplified them to a point which could be understood, it even made them within my ability. I managed to get the example one used in this video within 5 minutes of practice.

Anthan Krufix right on! super glad it helped, that means I did my job haha. When I was learning how to do them in Street Fighter 4 I couldn't understand for a long time so I'm happy to teach them in Pokkén.

Where does it go from here? Now that (I think) I know what to practice for pressuring Oki, I would love to see a video on the defensive ones mentioned sometime.

Anthan Krufix Good idea. There are a few great situations I can think off off the top of my head like against Decidueye and Lucario. I'm going to have to complile the best defensive examples and make a video on them when I get a chance

This...is amazing. So really, by using this you can take away some of the guesswork out of figuring out what to do in situations. Just takes some planning and practice. I love it. Looking forward to your next advanced video.

And here I've been casually thinking about exploring Option Selecting and recalling how Blaziken's Blaze/Gatling OS worked. And now I got a guide to work on my other characters as well! Thank yooou!

Yo, watching this video again since it explains OS better than basically any other I've seen. Noticed you haven't posted in ages though, hope you're hanging on there.

Hey man, love your guides. I literally got into the game when Blastoise came out XD, so I'm still getting used to the game. But I love the idea of OS to cover a lot of my options, so I wanna see if I can find some for Blastoise. Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to your nexts guides! P.S. thx for the Blastoise combos XD

Thanks a lot for checking out the videos! I have to explore Blastoise to find some useful ones once I get a bit more time. Been out at NCR this weekend

Practiced the one you showed with shadow Mewtwo. It's tricky getting the timing down but once you get it right it's cool how everything works out. Just made an OS with Gengar. It's not perfect, stupid suicune and his Uber fast counter beats me since Gengar's stubby arms sometime miss.

Awesome, thanks so much. Keep these coming :)

How much do you use OS when you play yourself? Do you use it constantly or just every now and then when you have pressure? Edit: Also want to add that as a fairly new Pokkén player (since Switch launch) I appreciate the effort you put into these videos. Cheers man keep it up!

Aggis Thanks for all the support for real! I use them occasionally in most matchups, but in certain matchups I use them about every game. As a SM2, option selects are super useful against Mewtwo and Suicune in particular because 6X alone can't contain all their reversals. As Blaziken I try to do the Burst OS as often as possible. So just depends on the character and matchup.

Got inspired by your video and I tried to learn Option Selection and I figured out that you can OS teleport (1A) out of Chandelures counters and Overheat. Probably basic knowledge to you but I'm pretty proud that I was able to figure that one out myself. I guess potato like me can learn too! Different thing is to apply that practice to a real game..
@BadIntent6 жыл бұрын
Hey that's a really good one that I need to use more! Teleporting out of red armor is great since you can't really outlast it. Also I'm working with Slippingbug to show a few other cool examples, hopefully I'll have em up tomorrow!

If I'm getting this correctly, Option Select is basically a reversal version of cancelling? It's still funky to me. Can you show me a Street Fighter example of Option Select? (And regarding the previous video, who is your favorite Darkstalker? Mine is Felicia, but I too love Morrigan.)
@BadIntent6 жыл бұрын
Alfredo Rodriguez It's more like doing two cancels. And then you get one cancel in one situation and one in another. Here are some Street Fighter X Tekken examples. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4CTpXaKrpqFlbc. When I make contact I get my block string, but when I don't make contact like if they backdash or teleport, I get the special move I input. In SF a simple one is do Ryu's Sweep then immediately jump HK and input Tatsu just before you hit the ground. If they backdash and make the jump HK whiff, Tatsu will come out. But if you make contact, it won't. Hopefully that helps some but if not I originally learned from Vesperarcade and maybe his SF videos can help! And niiice Morrigan is definitely my favorite by far tho lol
