Love that Watson immediately starts blocking on that 3rd and 6 scramble right when Malik crosses the line of scrimmage. Takes the guy deep into the end zone too. Even if he’s not getting targets, he’s playing hard and making an impact where he can.

Think Watson has continued to get better. Showed he can win jump balls/contested catches late last year and now blocking which I remember him flashing last year on too. Main issue he needs to work on at this point is stacking guys more consistently going vertical for better position. Hoping for at least a good chunk of targets for him from Willis before Love comes back.

Tennessee gave him 0 chance. He obviously wasnt ready in those starts and didnt have the best system in place for him. Taking away nothing from Malik, MLF called a perfect game for him and only asked him really to make 3-4 tough plays, and he executed. The thing I love about being a Packers fan is how much they revere when a backup player comes in and does clutch things or wins a game. It's so rare that we have a backup QB play, that when they do, if they win we celebrate it forever. People still celebrate the legendary Matt Flynn performance.

It would be great if Love could come back soon, but I sort of want Willis to get a shot at beating Tennessee. I know you can't afford to think like that as a player, but it would be a cool moment for sure if he could engineer a win against the team that got rid of him.

Love is likely back by week 4. I personally want to see just a couple or a few deeper shots for Watson. Maybe with another week of learning the offensive scheme they let Malik let it loose a bit more. Titans don’t scare me either way. Get some fun in.

@@aaiirssjoybut I do think love should sit just one more game. IF he feels great!Then wear a brace for half the season to just reinforce it, a very good brace too, that protects the knee from that type of injury/re-injury. Also yea I mean if Malik can squeeze a win out I’d say if Love’s injury is closer to grade 2 or not still sit him one more week no matter what. And embrace the brace and get back to it and I would love to see a lot of these RPO’s and stuff we did with Willis against the Colts with love as well when he is at full health and the type of football we played with Malik fersure we need to run the ball a lot more and love is him I know he could be a great run/passer 100% totally!

when Josh Allen was a rookie they were like 17 point dogs to the Vikings and won with a similar game plan (Cousins turned it over 3 times, but still). The bills gave Allen some layups, ran the ball, just made him comfortable and feel like he is contributing, without putting him in over his head. Love when coaches are able to do this kind of stuff.

Ive never seen a QB called trash with just 3 starts (as the backup in a terrible situation). Titans never gave him a chance and just rolled with levis. I thinks its pretty clear he will be in the league for a while and could even start for a team in the future.

Just gotta foster his confidence and get good coaching with Clements. Seen shitty coaches ruin/discourage guys who had plenty of talent but just needed refinement. I thought Kizer was one of those guys , just that by the time he was done and mismanaged in Cleveland, his confidence and ability to get coached was shot. Props to Baker for making it out of both shit holes in Cleveland and Carolina to ball out where he’s at now. Glad Malik is in a better place now.

As a titans fan I have nothing but love for Malik but I think his true colors will show soon. If he can play this style of game every game he can win (almost did it against KC). The issue is the second Malik has to start flinging the rock (playing from behind/2 min offense) the processing issues show. While I think Levis has the same pros/cons of being an athletic specimen with decision making issues, he just does more for a passing game than Willis is capable. With that being said packers by 5 this weekend lmao
@Grable424
@Grable424 Күн бұрын
@@alexeckley7156 that’s completely fair. I don’t really see him being a starting QB in the league but if he can be a serviceable backup that can get you through some games, that’s the most I could want from him. Thought he did a really good job of that. Also seems like a great locker room guy which is huge for backup QBs.
@producerguide2408
@producerguide2408 Күн бұрын
@@alexeckley7156 yeah. Hes not a pocket passer but can definitely run some sort of RPO, run heavy scheme. So he should have been able to run the titans scheme right? I dont think they gave him a chance to do it. I personally dont think its a processing issue. Hes not accurate on touch throws or layered throws over the middle. If he can do that hes a starter.

On the play when Willis runs and takes the big hit down by the goal line, he has Watson, well before crossing the LoS, WIDE open running across the field with him. The choice he made to run worked well enough, to be sure, but it will be great to see his development as they coach him. He does need to be smart and slide or get to the sideline at the end of the run. Go Pack Go!

Also, I find the Colts defensive gameplan interesting. Obviously we don't know much about Malik Willis, neither do I as a Packers fan. But, whether you were facing Jordan Love with an MCL injury, or Malik Willis, you'd like to assume you were going to see a heavy dosage of running. The one thing I will say is that the threat of Christian Watson and Jayden Reed probably messed with them quite a bit. The jet sweeps or cheap go routes, as well as having a bruising back like Josh Jacobs to complement it isn't the easiest. But damn, to give up THAT many rushing yards especially in 1 Quarter against the Packers of all teams is crazy haha.

Willis kept it simple and made some good choices when it got a little tight. When you got a good play designer like LaFleur and a player that can execute those plays quickly and accurately, it is hard to defend against effectively. and that D-line was in beast mode today.

@@michaelc8638 I'm sure you are, you're just as bad as your OC. Tennessee is where QBs go to die.

The titans were holding Malik back he has the speed of Vick arm like Anthony Richardson and on point accuracy I’m glad packers saved my boy from the titans I’m cool with him backing up love but we need to resign Willis and lock him up for the next 4 yrs umm 4yrs 60 million with 40 guaranteed sound about right for Malik

13:50 Is it unreasonable to want Willis to throw this to the right of the receiver to make the catch easier? From watching it, thats obviously more open, but Im sure it's probably not something a QB can really anticipate on that throw.

Hey did you do a Jayden Daniels on your patreon? Or do you not plan on reviewing him as much because you aren’t a fan of kliffs scheme or something? No hate, just wondering if Washington gives you enough love to get some vids.

Love these analyses. But how can you say "the Colts had no idea what the hell they were going to see?" They were going to see a ground attack. Granted, LaFleur mixed it up well, but still...

Colts have a history of making bad qb's great. Will likely be the best game of Willis's career.

I love the barf ball side view. Why did the center barf? Did he eat bad food and have food poisoning? Was he nervous, so he ralphed? What did the center say after the game? More barf shots. We all enjoy it!

It was super hot in GB and he probably felt overexerted. Happens all the time playing sports, just not usually the center barfing on the ball itself lol
