So, it’s not “doubling.” Is it “tripling”? But with the incredibly distinct personalities, the tall extrovert 1st violinist, the industriously crunchy 2nd cellist, you should get paid for “octupling”! This is already difficult to put together as separate musicians. Now even though Ms. Broman has an idea of the interpretation in her head, it is still *very* difficult to put it all together without headphones. I am super impressed! I can only achieve such a recording using headphones, or else I'm out of time and maybe have intonation problems. I could perhaps watch myself conducting off screen (not visible when filming) but it's distracting. This video is great. A perfect example of what can be created :)

If you want to see one tiny digital flaw (which I actually appreciate because it makes the 8-fold performance more real and reveals the technology a bit), go to 4:00 to see where the violin's scroll disappears for a bit in the center of the screen to make way for the violist's elbow.

I must be missing something - for one thing, the "violists" were quite a bit shorter than the violin 4 (and concert master.) And the glasses? Was that only to help create the illusion of different people? But what really got me, was the clear "watching" and "playing with" (visually) each other, whether adjacent to or across the stage. And then the slap hands at the end! I believe that someone is skilled enough to play the parts extremely well, but the interplay was too palpable to be merely digital images imagining each other!!! If someone wants to explain, I'm all ears! Thanks!
