Wish I could go back in time, at least mid 2010s. When Kmart, Sears, the old Hobby Lobby, this Kroger, and Ryan's were still open.

I work for Kroger maintenance, and this is one of the stores I took care of the refrigeration and air conditioning in

That's a LOT of arches at the entrance. I'm gonna guess it started as a typical "superstore Kroger" and then was expanded on over time. (Also, it looks unusually big on the inside for such an old Kroger.) I like how they have a whole wall section devoted to paper. 1:55: Original floor. :D

Wow! Once again just like Kmart you post a video of a place I went so many times as child. My dad and I used to visit this Kroger for bargain VHS tapes. So cool to see what it looks like inside. Crazy to see it empty. Y’all need more subs. Keep up the good work!! Those Hurricanes were devastating. We are still cleaning up today

I’m glad I got to document this because it is suffered severe damage from Hurricane Laura, and now Hurricane Delta.

This was the replacement for the previous Kroger that was also located on 12th, but between Hodges and Common. Anyone else remember the original?

Was this replaced by another store?
@skylarcaulfeild86422 жыл бұрын
It was replaced by a newer kroger, it was kinda annoying since a bit further out but it is 20 times nicer than that one

No it was not sir and it’s sad. Who cares if it’s a nicer one on the other other side of town that’s bullshit. They can’t say they didn’t for stealing and stuff the city seems to want the middle of the city to be like a blockage between north and south lake Charles

This building is still empty. They opened a newer Kroger on the other side of town

When did this open?
@mallwalking65803 жыл бұрын
Early 1970s.

When did it close? If I remember correctly, there weren't many grocery stores in that part of town, so it's unfortunate that it's gone.
@jonathancreveling86992 жыл бұрын
@@mallwalking6580 my guess is this opened probably around 1971 or 1972, because it's a Kroger Superstore with the archways

I was robbed in that parking lot! I exited the left doors and a black guy stuck a knife to my stomach, saying give me your money. I was in 6th grade and said I only have what my mom gave me for this bread. He pressed the knife point harder and said give it to me. I handed him the loose change. He pulled the knife away and literally walked into Kroger, as though he was going to buy something. I got on my bike and rode home.
