Brings back so many memories of when I camped at Arisaig and walked over the hills to Morar closely following the train track. There's a pub in Arisaig by the shore and I'd sit outside watching the world go by admiring the view. Thank you Iona for bringing back so many happy memories...X Terry

@Mitch8309, oh my goodness I've no idea how on earth I wasn't notified of your message, I've just read it now! How lovely you messaged me, thank you so much. I know Paisley, not very well but I did a college course there at Reid Kerr years ago. I'm so glad you're enjoying my videos and all your pals too. Let me know if there is somewhere where I can go for you to see that you'd like to. Where in Canada are you living? Was so nice of Bruce to introduce my videos to you. You'll always be Scottish no matter where you roam. Ix

Great video, nice to see Mallaig again, my parents had a caravan at Portnadoran, Arisaig between 1960 and 1990 and used to go up every year from Glasgow. I remember that gift shop being a ship's chandlers many years ago. Thanks for sharing Iona. 🙏👍 Like 137....btw I love ALL your music!!

@daviemcf I had a great weekend there and seeing the small isles too. Bet that was fun having a caravan there, all the lovely beaches which wouldn't have been so busy back then I guess. Are you still in Glasgow now? Ix
@daviemcf2 ай бұрын
@@IonaMacinnes Yeah good times at the caravan, I've only visited one small isle which was Muck, did you walk along the back road where you see a different view of Rum,Skye and Eigg? It was still busy then but not as busy as it is now. Yeah still in Glasgow but my heart is in the highlands/islands. x

Loved the backpacker hostel, it certainly has been modernised since i was there 20 years , the wee lounge had 6 or 8 beds in it back then , and some in another room.

I bet it has, and the wee cafe downstairs where I had the soup is owned by the same people, they are so lovely as is the cafe. I'm going back in a fortnight to do Muck and Eigg and I'm booked in there again.

OOh I realised I hadn't watched to the end of this one. Great fun and so helpful for when I get up there to do the small isles! I do prefer now that you have your wind muffler & using less or no music, it's better 😍 All your videos are great, your presenting, filming, the editing, you're a natural, just fab, keep it up please!
@IonaMacinnes5 ай бұрын
You're so kind. I'm always happy to read such positive messages, esp after work ha. Yes the wind muffler thing 'dead cat' (terrible name for it) is really doing the trick so there's no stopping me now. You are right about the music too. Ix

Looks like you had a nice relaxing weekend ,would like to go never been to the small isles.

Yes, Mallaig is slow paced and very relaxing unless you're with me, running for ferries and trains haha!!!

Great video, but it would be so much nicer without the background music. There was even music at the 'Sorry for the sound section'. You don't need it. You and what you are showing us is more than enough.
@IonaMacinnes6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching it and glad you liked it. I really appreciate your comments for sure. I'm so new to it all I was thinking maybe having music would drown out some of the terrible sound. Noted for my next one I'm editing on Canna so see what you think of that one, please let me know. Iona x
@vivellasmum5 ай бұрын
@@IonaMacinnes I watched Canna first so I must go listen again. I'm half way through this one & was going to say exactly the same. When you're speaking you don't need music. When u get your wind dumbing down gadget, I think people prefer the sound of the waves. I think less music is best, maybe driving music if you aren't talking, or to block out noises you didn't want. We prefer to hear what you're hearing, unless it's a pnuematic drill! xx

@bobbymcculloch2451, hello Bobby you won't believe this, I was at the pier on Saturday all ready to go to St Kilda but it was cancelled due to the fog and swell was above what it should be to go, I was gutted ive waited so long to go and something always gets in my way. Did you have a lovely day there? I'll surely get early next season. Thanks for messaging Bobby, I'm glad you liked the music, was a fun video to do along with the small isles ones. See you in St Kida!! Ix
