Mallorca - Fastpacking the GR221

Loved your video. Pretty hardcore, though! I'm back out on the GR221 in September to carry on from my Valdemossa to Soller legs of several years ago. I'll be doing Soller to Pollensa. A couple of questions, please? 1. Is the signposting good between Lluc and Soller? 2. What size bags were they? 3. Is there any chance of a kit list? Thanks, guys.

Thanks! Happy you enjoyed it :) 1. From what I remember the signposting was good. We were also using GPX tracks in our watches but it would be very manageable without that if you have some navigation experience and bring a map. 2. I was using Salomon's XA25 liter pack, Cass was using a Salomon ADV Skin 12 liter running vest. We used these bags for the whole trip (2 days of travelling and 3 days for the fastpack) so we had crammed in extra clothing for the travel days. For one person a 25 liter pack would be enough but you really can only bring the essentials then. If you're staying in the rifugios a recommendation would be to spend a couple of euros renting towels/bed sheets instead of carrying them with you. 3. Sure! Kit list - Hoka Mafate Speed 4 - Salomon XA25 - 2x 0.5 liter water bottles - 1.5 liter water bladder - Rain jacket - Cap - Thin gloves - Fenix Headlamp HM65R-T - Drysack - First aid kit - Sunglasses - Leki poles - Sleeping bag liner - Towel - Raincover - Running shorts - Longsleeved running shirt x2 - Running t-shirt - Running leggings - Buff - Powerbank - Garmin Fenix 6Pro - All the other standard stuff (passport, health insurance card, toiletries, chargers etc.)

Did you check the trail running poles on the plane or did you take them with you in your hand luggage?

@@trailpirat_ We flew with Ryanair and decided not to risk it so we checked them in. We actually bought a medium sized cardboard box and checked that in so that we didn’t have to store a suitcase somewhere when we arrived. On the way back we did the same thing.
