Part of a one hour color documentary about the women of NC acoustic blues, playing in the so-called "Piedmont" style. Etta Baker, Algie Mae Hinton, Cora Phillips, Odell Thomas, and others. Great music!
Shot in 1989. Many of these great players have since passed on.

I grew up listening to this like her all in my family here in sw va, and fiddlers conventions. Everyone plays like that and bluegrass. I can't get away from it. My style always goes back to default piedmont style no matter how I start off.
