In one word: Excellence. In three words: Excellence and quality. Impressive voice, impressive woman, excellent vocals (and a mouthdropping video clip). I have the feeling though, that the singer is more than the song in itself. A catchy electropop with a soul direction due to the great voice and the obvious passion of Destiny. It is a song for top 8, but I am not sure I would be happy to see it on number one. Definitely, better than the Mamas (their song is another sterilised transactional Swedish entry - it feels like kidney operation, not like expression of emotion). Malta combines a great voice with a more mainstream sound, and they do it perfectly.

Honestly I REALLY love this song. This is the way I want powerhouse songs to be, and Maltese singers always deliver those vocals. This is everything I wanted Move to be and I absolutely love this. I know some folks aren't big on this style but this is my top 5 immediately. I've been quite disappointed the past few days with the songs coming out but this has saved the week. I'm so happy!

yea im not getting winner vibes yet but at the same time its not out of the running like a lot of the other countries are. Its the strong visuals that suggest to me that the performance could tip it over into being a potential

Comparisons with Sweden are inevitable. But while in Sweden's case I feel I like the Mamas more than the actual song, in Malta's case I really like the song - liking Destiny is just the cherry on top 😁. Good work, Malta!

omg im dying here. so many freaking videos dumped on us at once. Croatia is filmed and sitting in my Imovie waiting to be edited. Cyprus I havent even watched yet! its the only one i havent heard Georgia - I fucked up. I didnt know the context of the lyrics and it messed up the video. Need to refilm the end cos the video doesnt make sense.

I'm just in awe how you manage to come up with such elaborate first thoughts. I would stink at this, after hearing a song once I can just say "yeah... I guess I like it " (or not). Well for me this is the weakest of Borislav's three songs this year. That doesn't mean it's a bad song, it's definitely in the top half this year. I don't think it will make my top 10 though. I just don't feel that much in this song, it feels more flat than the songs of Bulgaria and Germany. I liked Chameleon better as well; I agree that the live staging there should have been better. Destiny is really great and looks fab too. So a great song for Malta, but yeah it's not in my top 10.

Lewi haha If you watch some of my first videos from last year - you’ll realise it’s something I’ve gotten better at with more practice. It’s easy with songs like this Cos loads of stuff comes in your head. It’s tough when people send really bland entries and there’s nothing to say about them Cos nothing really is happening 😑. Yea now I’ve heard the song more, it’s my third BM. I’m still quite happy though Cos I really wasn’t expecting to like destiny’s song at all, and I like this. So it feels like a bonus. Plus I’m hoping they can get the visuals right this year. Last year it looked like vogue did the music video and then one of the interns did the stage performance.

@@ESCTom Haha yeah I think they ran out of budget after shooting the video. Hm not a good sign I guess for this year since this video cannot have been cheap either. Time permitting, I'll try to check out some of your earliest work ;-) Practice makes perfect of course, but I do not rule out that you're just a natural at this.

Ok. You should take back your comment that he kept the best song for Bulgaria and the others are worse. I think Boris is talented enough to write the right song for the artist to suit their voice. All 3 of his songs are in my top-10.

i think all 3 songs are really strong and i think all of them will have fans. I dont really think any of them is very obviously the best, but Bulgaria's one is currently my favourite of the 3

@@ESCTom Fair enough. Germany's is my favorite because of genre preference but I could see Bulgaria winning the whole thing if people aren't stuck on the Billy Eillish comparison. BTW in terms of Malta's video work, Christabelle "Taboo" was like a mini-movie - amazing. Too bad the song wasn't. But the video was to me the most interesting of 2018.

Yeah this pretty much has to be the best contemporary pop song at Eurovision. I'm not too fond of it, it lacks originality and I'm a sucker for those gorgeous ballads instead of radio-friendly shit I get force-fed every day anyway, but I can't possibly be against it doing well. I love how this basically kills Sweden, was very disappointed about Dotter getting shafted.

I won’t be dazzled by the video because I remember Walk on Water had a good video too but the staging was completely different. Regarding the song, it did not wow me like Germany or Bulgaria. Boris was one of six song writers so maybe his influence was watered down. Still it’s a great song & it may be a grower for me. Boris should win with one of his songs. Good luck to Malta.

oh god, "walk on water" was one of those moments where most people liked the song and it did nothing for me at all. true about him only being 1 of six. I keep referring to the songs as only him which isnt true and is a bit of a bad habit ive formed

At least I got rid of that feeling that 2020 is a weak year. Everything changed over the past 10-14 days and the competition is wide open. There is no clear favourite like Netta or Duncan Lawrence I feel. As for Malta it’s one hell of a grower. First listen I was like hmmmm, then it was wow! People seem to love it but I am not getting my hopes high for the televoting as we always get spectacularly penalized usually.

its verrrrrry high in the community - which doesnt always mean a success, but its better than being very low down. I think this is your best shot since 2002 to do really well. Id be super super proud of this entry also Malta maybe in my top 10 again this year !

Duncan Laurence wasn't a clear favourite. Soldi was just as much a favourite and I know it won't please Tom, Scream had a big following too, whereas everyone loved Norway. So, no, there certainly wasn't a clear favourite last year 🙂

Destiny just has a soft spot in my heart (probably my most memorable Junior Eurovision winner ever), so I really hope she does well ❤️ the song is excellent, as I expected (all 3 Borislav Milanov songs are in my top 4 this year ahahah), Malta quickly becoming one of my Eurovision favourites

It's a solid entry but I'm not a big fan of the song. IMO when you have a 17 year old performer you should emphasize the fact that she is young and fresh , not make her look 10 years older in the music video.

Ok.. Now what do i say??? Shit, let's just be honest here John.... NOT for me im afraid... Yes, a "feast for the eyes" but unfortunately, not for MY ears!. Sorry Tom, Destiny is beautiful and her voice will be, undoubtedly, one of the best on show in Rotterdam but the composition just doesn't cut it for me.. This is, imo, the least impressive of BM's 3 efforts this year and i feel, in an ultra-competitive semifinal 1, this may be the shock NQ...... i can't help but remember Amber failing to qualify with what i thought was a nailed on finalist.... I understand that I'm going to be in a minority here but c'est la vie...😥

lol you dont need to apologise, I want to hear different opinions so that I have a better idea what is actually going on, especially with prediction vids coming up soon. Im keen to stay away from the odds before i do my semi predictions this year cos they skewed me SO much last year. You might need to apologise though for comparing this to Amber, that song was sooooooo basic. If she was 1st half of the semi, Id be more inclined to agree about a shock non QF but shes 2nd half and thatll bump her chances a lot. Also have you seen this years merch is out - I really like some of the t shirts. the merch last year was FUGLY
