Yes,Eastern Indonesia aka West Melanesia (the Indigineous Locals are of Oceanian, specifically Melanesian and Polynesian Stock) are incredibly scenic and beautiful.Its tragic how overlooked the region is!It also has tons of unique species such as Cassowaries,Birds of Paradise,and even local distinct Marsupials!It is also the most linguistically diverse region in Indonesia,with Central Austronesian languages that are Non-Malay,Papuan languages,and even one now extinct Truukic Micronesian language!

The Spice Islands are written about for centuries.. Most spice mixes find their origin in Maluku/Molo Uku. Nutmeg, Cloves, Mace and Pepper were highly sought after, in general for its resources, by European nations, and why it is still sought after by the Oil and Gas Industry, also by the Tourist industry... pls keep Maluku pristeen and healthy for our future generations. #ecotourism #sustainable tourism #AbadiGasfield #MaselaBlock #Buru #TolakOrmatGeothermal

Bro wer not Melanesian, were Moluccans. We, unlike other Melanesians, do have austronesian ancestry. Were just as similar to Polynesians than that we are to Melanesians. Its just that on a world map, melanesia lies closer that people think were the same. But I do support independence

@@mcj2219 we are Melanesian. Maluku is part of Melanesia geographically, genetically and more. Even the flora and fauna is Melanesian, that is seen on other Melanesian islands. And other Melanesians have Austronesian ancestry aswell. All of them to be exact, besides the Papuans. For some reason the Papuans don’t have (a lot) of Austronesian ancestry. But our brothers and sisters from Fiji, Solomon Islands etc. all do have Austronesian ancestry, but yes we Moluccan’s have a bit more than the other Melanesians. But we are Melanesian. That is what makes us part of Pasifika.

She then fell in love with it and last year we brought our 10 and 9 year old kids there for the first time and they loving it! I'm curious. I always see beautiful blue waters at islands and I wonder, are there dangers for swimming there? Crocs? Jelly fish? Other poisonous fish or sea snakes?
@HighOnLowTide
@HighOnLowTide Жыл бұрын
In my experience, locals would warn you about dangerous locations (for example the boatman when I go `island hopping`), but I think the biggest danger would be unpredictable strong currents, rather than the different sea creatures. In eastern parts of Indonesia, reef sharks are pretty common basically everywhere (they are harmless, but I guess they could make some people scared). I`ve heard about sea crocodiles in Raja Ampat, but also, just at specific locations that local people will tell you about.

Well, first of all, my video about Maluku isn't the first one on KZbin. Also, Maluku is quite far from the touristy places in Indonesia (plus Maluku itself is huge), so traveling is time-consuming, which keeps most people away - not to mention other factors, like the lack of organized tours, etc. Plus with the rising flight-prices, it is pretty safe to remain as it is. Some more tourism however (people who after adventure - that's not the majority in tourism) would be beneficial for the locals I believe.

Speaking of RMS, its a corrupt masonic state, which goes against our true values, and it only includes the Central & South, completely ignoring the idea of 1 Maluku. Other than that, calling Moluccans Melanesian doesnt make that much sense either. Unlike other Melanesians, we also have a lot of austronesian ancestry. We have the same ancestors as both Papuans and polynesians. Sometimes people think we are the same as Maori, sometimes they think we look similair to papuans. Its only because on a world map, melanesia lies close to the Maluku islands, but saying we are melanesians and so meaning the same as papuans, is also very wrong.
