OHOHO I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. probably should’ve figured it was coming out on 2/2 but i forgot to check again until today. let me just say, absolutely amazing job. currently shedding more than one tear. and don’t get me wrong, i am an absolute diehard shuake fan, but i love how this is more about akechi than it is akiren. do love how you tied it into the story, obviously the protagonist is a big part of his story but i love the balance. and MAMAKECHI ❤ love the interpretations of her and everything. well worth the wait, thank you so much for blessing us with this animatic.

I just realized there's a small plot hole because Joker's still in jail on 2/4 But then I thought about it some more and realized Joker said "I miss you everyday" And 1 day is hardly enough for everyday Therefore Joker sent this text right after turning himself in. So then it was never sent in Maruki's reality because Akechi revealed himself to be alive before Joker sent the text. But it's here in the true reality because Akechi never reappeared and Joker still missed him.

It was meant to be old texts from between the time goro "died" and joker goes to jail and the notification was going to be his morning alarm and I totally forgot to to put that on the screen cuz it was literally the last thing I drew the day before uploading lol

This is so amazing dude I love those flashing frames in the beginning honestly, and the scenes where it shows Akechi growing older into who he ended up being. I would say that it made me tear up but I already was at default (im extremely conjested right now lol)

TBH I forgot where I found it and what exactly it said but it's basically a letter from Goro's mom to him where she asks his forgiveness and apologizes for k-wording herself

It took a bit but I managed to Google translate it! It says "Goro" "Please forgive me" Everything after that is scribbles, and then the signature at the end is "Mama"
