Fairly new, Katie's been playing it since the beginning of the year (2024). And you're right it doesn't happen too often Matt and Emmett are singing together. _Farther Along_ and _I'm Gonna Miss Her_ are two other ones.😊

We traveled from So Cal to Branson to see if these guys were for real and I assure you they are. Super talented, for sure, but every bit as professional and gracious with their fans as portrayed. Their theatre (and sound team)has great sound and no bad seats. They opened with The Cranberries, Dreams, which Julianne killed on, and played some other covers, some Christmas, and several originals. Better in person than on KZbin and I highly recommend a visit. Great job on an iconic song, here, too. Bakersfield’s claim to fame!

My dad picked the 5-string banjo with a bluegrass gospel band most of my youth, but his start was picking Chet Atkins style guitar with a country band. I remember him singing this song and my 4-year-old-self wanting to explain to people that he really was never in prison and that it was just a song. 😆Thanks for the Merle Haggard covers, Matt. My dad also sang "If We Make It Through December," and I was so glad you included that on your Christmas album.

Once again the Matt/Merle Haggard combination works perfectly. Matt has a special sensitivity to appreciate the songs of this great artist who, despite having made mistakes in his youth, managed to follow the right path and give everyone wonderful songs. Your interpretation is spectacular with Matt's lead vocals and Emmett and Julz's harmonizations. A harmonic trio that is rarely seen but that really works great! The excellent performance is completed by Emmett's virtuosity on the dobro and Katie's magic on the fiddle, in addition to the rhythmic base to which everyone participates in an extraordinary way as always. The choice of the location next to the railroad tracks was also spot on. As always, thank you and congratulations!!! 👍❤

*Oh my Gosh* that was so great! Obviously, the composer- Merle Haggard. But, for me, I 1st heard this live in concert with Jerry Garcia & his merry band of pranksters!
