Ling It is Spanish. But Spain Spanish and Latin American Spanish have some differences, and it can even vary regionally, especially in terms of slang. From Amber's comment, I'm getting that "bicho malo" meaning "boys are mean" is more of an El Salvadorian term. I think that's definitely what they were going for, since in Mexico "bicho malo" would mean "bad bug" (and in Puerto Rico "bicho" apparently means "dick," so don't try talking about being itchy from all the summer bichos there I guess 😅 haha).

Latin American here! Bicho Malo literally means "bad bug" in Spanish, but while most countries in South America speak Spanish, we have all developed VERY different ways to speak, from accents and slang to using different words for the same thing (for example, the word strawberry. Some call it fresa while others say frutilla). We still understand eachother most of the time, but there can be a bit of a language barrier. Many times I've had to ask friends from other countries what on Earth they are talking about when they use slang, and vice versa 😂 In my country (Chile), bicho malo just means bad bug, but in others it can different things, like a bad man. Also, the song does have a bit of a Spanish and Latin feel to it. They use a Spanish guitar, and the song wouldn't be out of place here in Latinoamerica. I've seen a lot of debate about it actually, but people seem to forget that of course some Spanish and Latin American music can be similar since Spain invaded and conquered most of South and Central America and that's the reason we speak Spanish in the first place 🙃 Sorry for the rant, I hope some of it was useful at least!

Has nothing to do with the performance but blonde hair really works for Solar, it's beautiful. I hope Hwasa won't dye her hair the same blonde as Solar, it won't look good on her. I don't mean that as in Hwasa is unattractive, her tanned skin with bleached blonde hair would not be a good look for her. I looked up her with blonde hair and you can see that her skin is very light (probably make-up foundation) so that her blonde hair doesn't clash with her beautiful natural melanin. The stylists themselves probably knew it wouldn't work so they made her skin paler so that the hair doesn't look out of place. Darker hair colours would make her melanin skin stand out, as for lighter hair colours.. the hair will stand out. Good thing for people with pale skin, they can pull off both. Although the only downside to that is trying to maintain their pale skin, the sun is the devil. Side note, I've never had anything against Mamamoo but I'm beginning to stan them now. People kept on bashing them for black-face which I believed they apologised for and other 'scandalous' things as well, now that the hate is slowly settling (judging from the like to dislike ratios on their performances), I'll begin to stan them. I didn't particularly believe the immense amount of hate was necessary for the situation, sure it was black-face so some hate was necessary but people acted as if they committed murder. Some people really blow things out of proportion, they be the same people to tell others to 'not overreact' but jump to conclusions when a celebrity has a small slip-up. **Ahem international fans about the Mino being a pedophile situation, cough people bashing on Seulgi for being shipped with Jimin when they were the ones to start the ship in the first place.. complete bullshit.** It goes back to what I used to think a lot, "People would care more about the punishment of ones' mistake rather than trying to come up with a solution for their mistake." Mamamoo did black-face and received endless amounts of hate for it. I saw more people saying 'MAMAMOO IS CANCELLED', 'DON'T STAN PROBLEMATIC TOXIC GROUPS LIKE MAMAMOO' and rarely any circumstances where people asked for Mamamoo to apologise for their wrongdoings. I understand that worded apologies does not justify someone's wrongdoings but you can't hate on them forever for it. Apologising for something you did means you understand what you did wrong and you hope to move on from it. I'm sure you would rather hear an apology from someone than hear nothing at all. Anyway, this song is great. I'm loving all the Latin influenced songs in KPOP at the moment, the diversity of KPOP is getting bigger by the day. At this point, they'll begin to create their own genres.

They performed a Bruno Mars medley I believe and Bruno Mars is of Hawaiian descent and therefore has very tanned (darker) skin complexion. To make it more authentic, they painted their face to be of a darker shade (because of Korean beauty standards, their skin is quite pale) and due to those actions they got a lot of backlash for it. Blackface is essentially making your skin tone darker in order to imitate a 'black' person, what they did was blackface because they imitated Bruno Mars. He isn't black but he does have darker skin in comparison to Mamamoo. As expected, they got a lot of backlash for it. Too much backlash to be considered necessary. Nearly every Mamamoo related post there would be comments saying "it's a shame they're racist" with replies going "the tea spilled" and such, even after they released an official apology people kept on bringing the situation up. People cannot let things go easily, especially if it's a race related issue. Due to the KPOP community majority being international, there were many opinions going around. Some said that 'they aren't aware of blackface' which many found to be a blatant excuse to cover Mamamoo for their wrongdoings. It was a huge mess. I didn't care for the situation much, sure it was a bad issue but it didn't affect me. The hate they received made it feel bad for me to stan them at the time, so I waited for a long time for the hate to settle down. I didn't believe that they deserved the amount of hate they got for it, people blew it way out of proportion. I'm glad it died down, now I can stan them without being judged for it. I always knew they had amazing vocals and songs but the KPOP community drove me away from stanning them sooner.

moomoo radish What Mamamoo did was wrong, but they completely owned up to their mistakes. Unlike many other people who try to make excuses for what they did when they say or do something wrong, Mamamoo acknowledged their ignorance, said that they realized what they did was wrong, apologized, and even went on to add that they love fans of all ethnicity, gender, sexuality, etc and that they hope fans will continue to educate them. That made me respect them so much more and it's ridiculous that they're receiving so much hate after an apology that was so sincere.
