Yeah that's right. Mamamoo is the first rookie group to win Immort Song 2. They're also the only girl group to have won, and the only idol group to win multiple times. ZE:A was the first idol group while Wanna One was the 1st rookie boy group, then Ateez who won recently is the first 4th gen boy group to win in immortal songs 2. I think BTOB and Seventeen also each had an IS2 win under their belts.

Here's the thing about Mamamoo. They trained and took risks and pushed themselves to the point where their individual voices are instruments and together they are a single-minded, dynamic orchestra of four. They KNOW their voices, and they KNOW what their voices sound like in different circumstances. Solar + Wheein = bright and angelic. Wheein + Hwasa = intimate and husky. Moonbyul + Solar = epic duality. Hwasa + Moonbyul = sultry and powerful. And that's just a sliver of it. Don't applaud them for their raw talent; applaud Mamamoo for their control and dedication. INSANE, bro.

@@altyngoal When Wheein and Byul are together they give us smooth, buttery swag for days. And Solar and Hwasa carry a lot of the punch in their live performances, since their voices are the most textured. I think the reason why we don't get those pairings as often on the foreground is because Wheein + Byul have a very similar vocal tone (look up "how Moonbyul would sound singing Wheein's parts," it's crazy), and Solar + Hwasa both have very brassy tones. So when we get either of these pairings, notice that they won't be played on the same level--one will be slightly quieter or sing on a different octave so that they balance out. But this is just part of them being familiar with how their voices work together! Every vocal combination from MMM is mindblowing 😌

These are the 4 ladies who would show up and perform OUTSIDE of theater venues (to crowds of admiring fans,.. there IS footage). They ARE wearing the most dreadful colored leisure suits here. You gotta react to all of their immortal songs individually now.. this was a mashup of just a few of the songs they’ve performed on the show. Someone recommended “Delilah” which is a must. Also, in my opinion the best one they’ve done is “way to sampo” (a part of it was in this medley you just watched). If you look at any reaction to it on KZbin, most people end up speechless and/or crying by the end. It’s beautiful, and their vocals are unmatched.
