Mamamoo hasn't had a regular album since Travel and tbh neither Reality in Black nor Travel got the amount of promotion they needed to really stick in people's minds. Since Mamamoo is one of my top ults I have had those albums on repeat but I feel like nothing Mamamoo has put out since Hip has been a huge hit for casual fans. It has to do with the fact that they don't respond to trends in the same way as other groups. Like, Dingga was a retro song in 2020 but it wasn't disco or synth like the majority of the songs in that trend. Mamamoo isn't in the "banger" business per say but they do occasionally make songs that slap you into another dimension. Illella is half in and half out of Mamamoo's wheelhouse and I think that a lot of people who have turned away from Mamamoo will comeback.

Agred on this for sure - especially the comment about them not making music essentially for casual fans or to follow trends. Personally it's one thing I love about them because I can always count on their stuff to come through and hit because I love it. But yeah I can totally see this being something people talk about A LOT.

I feel like that too, although they're known as kpop idols they are so much more than that. True talented artists! The dance break didn't blend enough for me but I guess that mightve been the point, I still loved this! Vocals, visuals, choreo, mv set gaaahhhh OT4 comeback finally 🙏🏼 I can't wait for the dance prac for this or a live!! 🥵☠

I'm totally with you on what you said about how this song feels like a return to form for them. I got into K-pop (with Mamamoo becoming my ults) in the summer of 2020. So when I got to know Mamamoo, they had already put out all of their big hits. The songs were already there when I became a fan. My first comeback with them was Aya. Now, that song has grown on me like crazy since then, but when it was first released, I really didn't vibe with it. I love the song today, but it does remain a weird duck, that one. Then we had Where Are We Now, which is of course pretty and has awesome vocals, but it's still a ballad, and ballads isn't what I got into K-pop for. Then we had mumumumuch, which is... cute, but feels like a blip on the radar in the grand scheme of things. So all these title tracks that have been varying degrees of "okay", but none of which in my book fully measured up to the songs that made Mamamoo my ults. I've been feeling like I arrived just a bit too late for their golden era. But THIS song! THIS is what I've been waiting for. It's like I'm finally getting a new proper Mamamoo banger of a comeback. And that feels great. Anyway, loved your reaction! Keep up the good work!
