Mamamoo (마마무) Travel Album Lyrics Reaction!!!

"travel" really is like the perfect driving song. i don't even drive but get that feeling (i've been putting these four songs on while walking my dog lately, kind of a different experience, that) "chuck"... i see someone has tried to explain the meaning of it, all based on a korean word that sounds kind of similar to 'chuck'. so with it, the song is pretty much about being over pretending to be fine and wanting the person to go away "diamond"... what is there to say? it feels like "words don't come easy" and "high tension" in all the best ways and super, super sultry "good night" is such a great way to end the album, wishing all the moos out there sweet dreams. and the part that is just wheein's voice is utter perfection, it sounds like she's right there in the room with you honestly, i love how they're still experimenting with their music. "aya", "chuck" and "diamond" are all experimental in different ways. and it's kind of funny that two of those ("aya" and "chuck") were considered title track worthy alongside "dingga" and they had a small number of korean moos vote (the majority picked "dingga", saying it'd do well on the charts. but rbw and mamamoo vetoed that, wanting to do "aya" as the title track and said 'damn the charts') wheein said in the recent fancalls that she's working on her solo album and it'll be some time after "aya" promotions. many are expecting that to mean early next year, but we'll have to see. she's also going to be promoting the title track on music shows, something she's never done solo before (and something she's said several times that she dislikes)

I feel like not many people like the song so I wanna explain why Good night is my favorite 😊. It's such a sweet song and has the softest warmest melody. It sounds and feels like the safe and sound bed you slept in when you were a child or something. And the lyrics, oh my, they're such sweet and healing words to sing for your loved ones, your child, your significant other, your family, or to anyone having a hard time. Also, just a thought but Wheein's light honey vocal suits this song so much, it kinda reminds me of her OST Shine on you.

Actually GoodNight is my least fav...the sound production is awesome, also the the vocal.. maybe because the chord progression is kinda mainstream and too predictable idk. But any album need a ballad and at least 1 easy listening song so I won't complain. I really like this album 🥰

'척(chuck)' has its own meaning in Korean but it's kinda hard to translate it directly to English. If you put 'adjective + 척' then the phrase means 'pretending to be adjective'. Normally it has a negative feeling. So it holds the whole topic of the song's lyrics! +actually the lyrics of Diamond is done by Kim Ina, who is a very famous lyricist in Korea. The rest is from Byul herself though

Byul often writes her own raps and thus is credited as writer. I believe Diamond is the only track in Travel that doesn't involve Byul as writer. Kim Eana and Park Woosang are both credited as writers and composers for the track.
