MAMAMOO+ Reacting to Their Own Song, 'Chico malo'

Thank you for your help, Moonbyul!
A couple of days ago, our new song 'Chico malo' was released:)
So I decided to shoot a reaction video with Moonbyul, haha
We never watched it together, so it was actually more fun!
It has gotten much warmer lately, but when we were shooting the music video, it was so cold. We were constantly shivering :(

Chico malo really brought out the auras they had without overlapping eachother, both of them had such a strong presence and the song and concept was really unique i love it so much!! ❤️

what I love about mamamoo (individually and as a group) is that they don't just put out songs/albums for the sake of having a comeback and it shows because you can literally see how they enjoy and love what they do (as musicians) whenever they talk about any of their singles/albums. This, imo, is what makes their work standout among most of their industry pals.

I love it when the concept is something that doesn't feel like only a stylistic choice, but is something that informs the song's entire vibe. This song did that so beautiful. It feels like such a great contribution to the music landscape

I know they were laughing about Solar-nim's representation of nostalgia, but I loved the way it layered with the overall angry feeling. Often when we feel such intense longing, the loss can fuel a kind of deep and intense anger, and last beyond once the anger fades. It was a really nice way to bring out how anger can be a sign and manifestation of sadness that has become twisted by the indignation of being treated poorly by another.

In my opinion, adding Kim Joon Soo's Pansori in the beginning of the MV is genius. It feels like it might not suit the song but it surprisingly does and it even elevates the song. The Daegum and Gayageum used in the song is also genius because it adds so much flavour to the song. The theater play concept for the MV was so fresh and nice. In short, really really love Chico Malo. Both of you have really worked hard on it. 👏👏👏👏🤟 As for the style, love both of your styles. I think it represents your personality really well.

Sorry byul, solar expressed her feelings well throughout the song...the sadness, the cynical expression, the determination to rise again after being pushed...the change of character from being weak and begging for the 'bad boy' to stay to being strong and stand on her own two feet...the women empowerment...i love it...

What I love most about Mamamoo as a girl group and solo artists is that they don’t stick with just one style, even if one style is more marketable to a larger group of people. They’re not afraid to experiment with their music, and I think that’s what makes them so unique to me.

Watching the MV and listening to the song was really a good kind of shock. I love the way it pulls together different eras, genres, styles and feelings into something coherent. Like I do when watching a brilliant stage performance, I felt my mind and culture broaden. As for which hair style I prefer, I like the way it switches between the story and the dance formation. The creativity that went into the song and MV is off the charts! For one, the concept of shooting it like a theatrical stage, leveraging different spaces and camera work worked so well and then the fusion of tradition and modern both in aesthetics and instrumental was just too cool. Chico Malo has Solar and Byul's creative handprints all over it and the result is a masterpiece. Solar, you and Moonbyul have worked so hard! Amazing job! Can't wait for GGBB ❤❤

저는 더 많은 스토리의 뮤직비디오를 좋아합니다. 과거 mamamoo의 뮤직비디오에는 많은 아름다운 춤과 장면들이 있습니다. 저도 좋아합니다. 다만 더 많은 스토리의 뮤직비디오가 저를 더 끌리게 합니다. 마치 WindFlower처럼. 이 뮤직비디오는 비록 세트는 많지 않지만 함께 배치되어 매우 아름다웠고, 화면은 우아한 아름다움을 가지고 있었고, 다른 뮤직비디오에 뒤지지 않는 분위기였다. 대중들이 받아들일 수 있는 정도인지는 모르겠지만 정말 마음에 들었다. 둘이 싸우는 퍼포먼스도 엄청나고 너희 진짜 잘하네, 타이틀곡이 아니라 선곡인데 똑똑한 선택인 것 같아, 진짜 무, 무를 위한 선물인 것 같아. 음악방송에서도 이 노래의 무대를 볼 수 있었으면 좋겠는데 음악방송에서 연기를 할 수 있다는 게 정말 멋지지 않나요? 마마무+ 파이팅

All of the hairstyles looked good and the transition between them all felt really natural.

The amount of styles blended in is incredible. The whole video and the song itself has modern and traditional elements, folkloric and commercial rhythms. They're telling a story/a tale through the song, adding a bit of acting and (contemporary) choreography. What they did is just brilliant, not only Solar and Moon but the whole team with them. I really love it. Regarding hairstyles, I liked both of them and each one has their own vibe, but for me it was more eye-catching when they both tied their hair. Byul's hair was particularly different and I liked it a lot.
