As a kpop fan for 15 years,, i have to say there is no other group like MAMAMOO. At first i got hooked by their music then the cute ships between members. Later as i got more into mamamoo, i realised that this group is different. The way they show themselves and the hyper cute momos encouraging each others. Mamamoo is a group who show mad talent, their confidence is out of the roof even though they r so call ‘shy’ hehe, the way they voice their opinion and of course their individuality. They have their own colour and stand out which unique than other groups. Im little late to join the stan but never late then ever. I adore each member of MAMAMOO and feel warm within many momo’s around the world. Saranghanuuuu

The first word whenever I think about MAMAMOO is confidence. They really do not think about other people’s opinion as long as they are being true to themselves, and that made me love them even more. I love how they challenge themselves every chance they get (comebacks and solos) and empowering people that being different is better. They gave us confidence and power that we should stay true to ourselves and not being driven about other’s opinion. I love them so much!

Truthfully speaking, this is the first mamamoo guide which introduces the group so well. Mamamoo is not a group of girls who just plays around and are beagles. They are more than that. They fully involve in their performances and songs and makes them more livelier and meaningful. Their might be many people who might not be their fans, but honestly speaking, nobody can hate them for what they do. Rather than just silently taking all the hate, these women emerges as someone who can be daring to call off those haters through their performances and their music. That's the biggest slap to all the haters out there. If there are hundreds to hate you, remember that there are millions of people are out there who loves you.

I love this video. You should also include that these girls weren't afraid of hard work as well. Because let's not forget Mamamoo is a self made group. They might've been signed to a company but that company as well was new and could barely afford rice. Solar mentioned a teaser of what these girls did for themselves but they truly worked their asses off to get to where they are now. There wasn't any big company resources awaiting for them. They literally started from the from the ground up, performing on streets and bar/lounges to build a fan base alone, including with a big part of building rbw as well, and many more. It's so frustrating that mmm gets left out of conversations about influence within the kpop community. They obviously have a huge impact in Korea and set the trends, break norms, introduce new standards of beauty. Mamamoo is literally changing people's mindsets and perspectives and giving the meaning of kpop idols a new definition. Kpop and kculture make up a huge part of Korea's economy and the media/music/films/dramas have such a big influence in people's every day lives. Mamamoo has decided to use their influence so spread female empowerment and are role models for many people. I think it's so crazy how much Mamamoo has changed the public's ideas regarding gender, femininity, beauty and so much more. Mamamoo has set new standards of what being an idol is. It's not just singing and dancing but also about speaking up about issues and spreading postive messages to their audience. Mmm has accomplished so much and I can't wait to see what else they do in the future❤
@leobelcolona47213 жыл бұрын
the sad thing about it is when the industry thinks of influence, they tend to think about the monetary value - for instance, BTS and Twice sales indeed have a huge impact on the economy. Meanwhile, Mamamoo's influence goes beyond the superficiality of the status quo and actually challenges the norms which is not a comfortable topic for discussion.

I am an Indian. I was totally unaware of k-pop till December 2019. I have always been a fan of stories. I read a lot of wuxia and xianxia novels and also some manga. Being an Asian myself, I was naturally curious about the lives of my fellow Asians. We have been exposed to western culture a lot and I too have gone through such a phase. But, after a time the stories and plots became repetitive and I lost interest in western shows. During the end of winter last year, I came across a news article about k-pop, (which I don't quite remember) but I got curious and searched the most famous groups, and it was Blackpink and BTS, according to global reach of these two groups. Being a guy myself, I chose blackpink as a starting line to understand the k-pop culture. I watched a show where they live together in a house, even before watching any of their songs, just to understand their personalities and it was something unique for me to understand that such shows exist. Overall, it was an average understanding for me about k-pop scene. Blackpink did live up to their name. But, soon there was no more content on them. I forgot about them and watched some Indian youtube channels and then during one video transition, HIP MV got played as an advertisement. Because I still hadn't seen any k-pop mv's, I did not skip the ad, I found it interesting and one girl stood out. Hwasa. She had strange confidence in her eyes and those black short hair complimented that look. But, there was something else that I got from it. I could feel that she would be same in all her other avenues in life. (I understood this just from that dance and facial expressions.) I wanted to know more about her but since I was watching an ad, it did not tell me anything about what I was looking at. (This was also the time that HIP cane out.) Still, I couldn't find the name of this group. I moved on. But, hwasa had been on my mind, and I felt a connection to her because I have the same attitude towards life. I wanted to know more about her but I did not know what to search for and how to find her. At this time my youtube feed got filled with korean video recommendations and after around 10 days i saw the HIP video being recommended. I immediately watched it, and felt the same feeling that i had felt in its first watching, her confidence. I only watched hwasa, still unaware that there were other crazies(meant in a good way) in this group. Now, i knew, they were called mamamoo. From that, i found out her name was hwasa. Since, i had seen blackpink do a show where they live together in a house, now i wanted to see a show where mamamoo live together in a house. And to that, i found, 'i live alone'. I watched it from the episode where hwasa makes an entrance in the show. It was totally expected of her to behave the way she did, because I believed in her inner confidence. Being an indian i was unaware of the korean standards of beauty, but I never thought her to be not beautiful. She had a unique charm. I kept watching the later appereances of her on that show until i caught up to the latest episode and knew more about other korean celebrities. Blackpink being my first intro to K-pop failed to capture my attention. I was enchanted by MAMAMOO. After all this I watched MMMTV on the official MAMAMOO youtube channel. I was now confused about who to stan. At one point it was solar, then it would be moonbyul, then wheein would do something and i would forget solar and moonbyul, but at the end it was hwasa who was my original k-pop girl member, for whom i had fallen for. I have now seen most of their videos and their show appearences on various shows including fancams and stage performances. This video had all those compiled. All the info was something that i was aware of. So this video felt the right place to share my meeting with MAMAMOO and how I became a fan of korean pop song culture. Cheers, on making this video. My point is I could see their confidence in themselves from the very first exposure i had to them.

Omg this is beautiful. I feel so touched reading it. Tbh I used to stan Blackpink too because I am a big fan of YG artists like BIGBANG, 2NE1, Lee Hi, iKON, WINNER, AKMU because they are very diferent from typical idols and are self-made and self-produced but as time goes on I keep find BP lacking, they're not as talented and good as their seniors(which I listed above) and somehow fake and I was so disappointed. And at that time I'm not a hard stan of MAMAMOO yet just a casual listener till the point I started to know abt MAMAMOO more, I'm hooked and so amazed and inspired till I stan them so hard. After stanning them, they set the standard so high that when I watch other groups, I keep seeing lacking and weakness evn tho I tried to not to but I can't help it so yeah in the end I stop stanning BP and devoted myself as Moomoo hehe. No hate to BP tho it's just I lost interest in them.

@@misslilyhyun i havent followed all the above listed artists. I am at the point where i am watching running man, i live alone, mom's diary. I havent followed these artists because i want to know more about the culture of korea through these variety shows. I even did not watch parasite, because i knew that i wouldnt be able to relate to the actors and the history they have. Through the variety shows, i am able to understand their personality which allows me to enjoy their commercial work more. As for blackpink, i was never a fan, they were just an entry point to me for k-pop. I am glad that the first group I liked was MAMAMOO, and even though they have spoiled me for other girl groups, i still have some favourites, hani from exid, bomi from apink, seulgi from red velvet, yooa from oh my girl, sinb from gfriend, lisa from blackpink, jeon somi from ioi, although she is now an individual artist. I like them for their off screen personalities. I haven't looked into boy groups, kim heechul has a similar personality to a friend i have and heechul is so hilarious. Mamamoo are not just vocally talented and very versatile (and are fucking good at it) but i love how unfiltered they are, like they don’t give a fuck. they’ll say wat they wanna say, and they’ll do wat they wanna do. They don’t give a fuck about how the kpop media wants them to be, they literally went, fuck their god damn standards and expectations, we be who we want to be. They be who they wanna be and love themselves for who they are and stand up for wats right and i really respect that. And it’s great that their company is giving them creative freedom as individuals as well, like mamamoo is hella lucky that they’re under a company that gives them freedom to be who they are as individuals and not too controlling of them. But there are some rules they have to follow sadly, like dating (I think they’re allowed to date, they just can’t be public about it). I feel like some companies are letting idols date now, or just don’t care anymore bc you can’t control that no matter wat. No matter how powerful you are, you just can’t keep an idol from falling in love someone, it’s inevitable, so i think companies stopped caring about it, just as long as it doesn’t make it internationally. Or maybe they might have something shady up their sleeves bc some companies do that too, tho, some have never been caught who knows this is getting off topic 😅. Although, it’s sad that not many idols have that same confidence as mamamoo does and wen they do, they get punished and it really sucks, but I’m really hoping one day, idols will be able to do wat they love and also have a healthy, happy life to be who they truly are as a person, not just an idol. And me being pretty optimistic, they’ll have that soon, depending how the future goes.

They are really good at stages (No doubt) because of their adlibs. "Um Oh Ah Yeah" was a hit in every show of Mamamoo. They are really talented and hardworking .

I think their company treats them well. Mamamoo have control with their music and stage performance and that gives them confidence. Other companies would control their idols as puppets and it made them to have low self esteem.

Each of these ladies are beautiful; especially of the heart, mind, and soul. Very happy to see that they used negativity directed at them to motivate themselves to do better and demonstrate better. Thank you!

The more I watch MAMAMOO, the more I find them nearing to be the epitome of: "I don't need you to respect me. I respect me. I don't need you to love me. I love me. But you can get to know me." It rings so loudly for me esp when Solar said "It's up to me how I want to dress." I don't think I've ever heard another idol say those words before tbh. Mamamoo is such a breath of fresh air.

Y'all, I am so glad I got to meet these four amazing women in this life. It is the one thing that I am truly grateful for, despite the shenanigans of 2020. Although it was late, and I am really really bothered because of it, I am so so so so sooooo glad that I did. Thank you CEO Kim Do Hoon and for RBW for supporting these women. Thank you MAMAMOO for existing in my life.

People saying Yeba is ugly, and the first time I saw her in starry night I thought she was an unapproachable Goddess by how beautiful she is, Glad I got to know her better and learn she's just as beautiful inside as she's in the outside

That's something that a lot of International people don't realize. That first episode of Home Alone/I Live Alone that she did, the one episode, in which she had a makbang of gopchang DRASTICALLY changed the economy of several neighboring districts in SK on a MASSIVE SCALE. The "Ground Zero" Restaurant (the one she visited), the neighboring Restaurants in the same district as well as the Restaurants in the neighboring districts ended up being sold out of gopchang & other foods because of Hye Jin's Episode of HA/ILA. "Ground Zero" went from essentially a "Mom & Pop" style business that was a 1 floor with a little outside eating area of a building to them BUYING THE ENTIRE BUILDING that was on top of the Restaurant & franchising out. - Either Mid-Late 2018 or Mid-Late last year, they closed down for several months in which they drastically renovated the Restaurant & even signed a deal with Hye Jin/RBW for permission to use her "Hwa Sa" name & likeness for both advertisement at the "Ground Zero" Restaurant as well as Commercials for said Restaurant. She went on "Yu Huiyeol’s Sketchbook", & MC read from a cardboard/sticky note "Hwasa, I'll speak casually since we're the same age. I worked at a tripe restaurant, and I nearly died from overwork because of you." from a former waiter. He was in attendance & he wasn't happy with Hye Jin (well, with what she had caused) because he was a Waiter & he enjoyed the quiet slow pace, then Hye Jin's HA/ILA Episode aired, and his quiet slow pace job became a madhouse. [kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXncmYGcp72Uq6M] --- The MC asked the (ex)waiter "How drastic was the change based on what you experienced as a part-timer at the tripe restaurant?". He responded saying "Before the restaurant even opened, we had a lineup of people that were enough to fill the entire restaurant. Even after we let them in, we had a lineup outside." Hye asked him "What time did the restaurant open?". He said "We opened at 3pm, but people started lining up at 2pm.". - The MC then said to him "Then you must've hated & resented Hwa Sa." He said "I'm sorry. Yes, I did hate her a lot." The MC said/asked "I bet your boss was happy, but it must've been so hard for you. Did you get a raise after that?". He responded "I was already getting paid a lot, but I just wanted to quit." The MC told him to say some final words to Hwa Sa, which he said to Hwa Sa "Back then, I hated you. But now that I've quit that job, I'll be cheering for you."

An unrelated comment, but mass behaviour is fascinating, don't you think? No one knows what they'll get interested in and make viral all of a sudden. No one knows who will be the next king/Queen/monarch they make more famous than ever in a span of few hours, and then just forget about them to hype someone else, save for some lucky/deserving few. Hwasa is one of the deserving people tbh. People may have come for the hype, but I'm sure at least a few tried to know more about her and see her beyond just the 'girl who ate gopchang', because she has the inner substance and depth not many can display with such elegance
