Many groups connect with their fans via fanmeets and behind the scenes or candid videos but Mamamoo is unique in so many ways that it's hard to compare them with anyone else. Byul has been developing the character we see in this vid though fake radio broadcast videos and her Selfish MV (and the Selfish teasers) and you probably saw Solar's commercial parodies and the Granny Yong Sun Hae character in her recent videos. That kind of thing is not normal, but of course Mamamoo is not normal. The bond between Mamamoo and moomoos is very deep. You'll almost always find fancams for any Mamamoo event. As for other groups, I'll give you a boy group & girl group example. BTS is famous for using social media to talk with fans and they're the best at connecting with fans around the world through their English translations and i-ARMY translations into many languages. I also recommend you check out rookie girl group Khan, which is a duo composed of two members of disbanded group The Ark. They released a debut single called I'm Your Girl and surrounded it with a ton of content on KZbin. They dropped about 10 videos of fantastic song or dance covers along with several candid videos in a series they call Kany TV, they've been busking on the streets, and have held a fan meet. Their skills are way above rookie level and they're using social media and in person connections to quickly develop their fan base. Their approach as rookies reminds me of Mamamoo - high level of talent, genuine personalities, more mature music than the usual cute concept route, and personal connection with fans.
