Mamata Shankar and Tanushree Shankar - both of you couldn't have given classical recognition to this dance form. Odike Kelucharan Mahapatra Udayshankar ke follow korey Odissi scratch theke kothay nir gelen. But ei dance form ta akhono serokom bhabe recognition paay ni. Eta akhono shudhu predominantly WB based. Onno kothao workshop holey kichu bairer lok asen - kintu taa jothesto noy. Aektu bhabun ei dance form ke aekta classic akhya deoar byapare. Noyto aek somoy harie jaabe.

Please do your research before making any comment. First and foremost, this is NOT a classical dance form neither is it meant to be. If you think this dance form is appreciated only in West Bengal, you are truly mistaken. Uday Shankar Style of dance has universal appeal and is acclaimed worldwide.

It is WB based only. Even it is accepted worldwide it is among Bengali group. And might be a few other people are interested. It's not enough that this dance form is accepted by some big universities. It should go to the mass scale. Till date it has not been reached. Truth is harsh but truth is truth. Classical recognition it might not get but world wide enough recognition also it didn't get till date. Probashe thakle bojha jaay kotota recognition paoa gache. Forget about other countries not even in any other state it is being taught.

Beautiful. It will be better known as WB 's sp dance form.this is practiced in various countries for any sp functions by the Bengalis along with others.it is very Rabindric .
