I just bought the G920 with shifter and will be ready to setup my driving cab soon. Do you have a video or images that could show me what settings I need in mame as well as how to properly map all my controls for all the 270 degree games?

No, there's a lot of variables from which wheel you are using to how each game handles the inputs. I made a video to show how to map a shifter for Race Drivin'/Hard Drivin'. Mapping the shifter should be self explanatory in the rest of the games. You can set the wheel rotation in the Logitech software and may have to adjust it to what feels best for you. You might like it better closer to 200 degrees. Make sure you turn off any joystick deadzone in MAME. The Logitech software can combine or split the gas and brake pedals so play around with that if you are having issues with the pedals. You also may need to reverse a pedal axis in the analog settings. I think it's best to play around with everything and figure out what works best for you. If you set it up and have a specific issue, let me know on here and I can help steer you in the right direction (no pun intended).

No, I have a separate video for it and I used an analog flight stick. You need to be able to move up and down in that game as well as steer. It's meant to be played with a Star Wars yoke.

Hey man. First of all, GREAT channel. As a Mame enthusiast I can't praise it highly enough. So...for Chase HQ how do you map the pedals? I believe Chase HQ actually had micro-switched pedals and my G29 wheel has analogue that the game just won't see. Any ideas?

I don't have my wheel hooked up by I've definitely played Chase HQ with my G27. Do you have them set as combined or separate?

They're combined. I have them working perfectly with Outrun etc. (I know about the + and - stuff) but Chase HQ won't register them at all.

Which MAME are you using? Any front end? If all else fails, just map the pedals to letters on your keyboard in Xpadder and map the pedals to those keys.

Lots of people say chase hq and SCI used a 360 wheel in the original cabinet but they look like they run fine on a 270? Are there any other 360 games that work with 270 wheels? I tried super sprint but that was not happening

I believe Chase HQ (and probably SCI as well) can use either but you have to change a dip switch so the game knows which you have. In my opinion, there are no 360 games that should be played on a 270 degree wheel.

I don't have either of those wheels but they should work fine. I have a Logitech G27 and have no issues. If you are using the Logitech Driving Force Pro, I would reduce the rotation to somewhere between 200 and 270 degrees (whatever feels best).

How are you able to run the Cruis'n games so smootly, without any lag & sound stuttering? I tried playing them on my AMD-FX 6100 machine, and they run slow and lag a lot. =(

+DarthMarino Just getting all the settings for the wheel and the petals to work and play right as well as the shifter and the game itself running smooth it always seems to struggle on my computer but i definitely have the specs to handle it

+Gmaster508 The only thing I would do for the wheel is turn off the joystick deadzone completely. For the pedals, it depends if windows sees them as separate axes or a single axis. If it's a single axis you keep mapping the same pedal until it says Axis+ or Axis-. On the wheel I used in the video I have gas mapped to Axis-. Each gear on the shifter is a separate input. What shifter are you using? Not sure I can help with performance. Are you using an Intel chip?

+DarthMarino Im using the six speed shifter that comes with the G27 wheel and petals. The chip i am using is an amd phenom black edition quad core with 8gb ram and gtx 660sc video card

+Gmaster508 That shifter should be perfect for Cruis'n. Just map each gear to the first 4 positions and you'll be good to go. I'm not sure if anything can be done about the performance with that chip. MAME only really uses one core (at least for now) so the faster the clock speed the better. It also works much better with Intel chips. MAME also doesn't really use graphics cards with the exception of HLSL effects.

Thanks. Nothing fancy. The chip is a i5-3550 (3.3 GHZ). I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 in there but it won't have much of an impact on MAME games.

Most of the games in these videos run at full speed. Some are borderline like GTI Club. If the game is too slow on my computer, I wouldn't make a video of it.

The only game I can think of with 3 monitors is the Panorama version of Hard Drivin'. I'm not sure how MAME outputs the 3 screens though.

Not that I know of. I would just change the settings in the Logitech profiler. You can probably set it to change when you start those programs.

I usually just run a MAMEUI version, right click on the game and go to audit. It will tell you what files you are missing.

No, you set it before you start the game. In MAMEUI, right click on the game and go to properties, controllers. In regular MAME, right click on the game, go to advanced options and you'll see it in the input section.

They are kind of sluggish on my computer as well. The only thing you can do is get a faster Intel chip like an i7-4790K. The RAM and video card won't make a difference.

Not yet. Some people have played around with it. There is a version of MAMe called MAME Hooker that can add simple rumble to some racing games, but not full force feedback at all. Maybe one day, but probably not any time soon.

The sound on these games is horrendous. I would have to mute them! Emulation is terrible for audio.
