Mamluk dynasty was founded by a salve General Qutub Ul Din Aibak Of Ghor. He was slave of Shahb Al Din Ghori aka Muhammad of Ghor. After the death of Muhammad of Ghor, his slaves inherited him as he had no apparent heir to throne. Aibak took control of Delhi, founded Mamluk Sultanate by laying foundation of Delhi sultanate and became first sultan of this dynasty. He was succeeded by Aram Shah whom Shams Al Din Altamish overthrew. Iltamish was one of most powerful sultans of Mamluk dynasty. Then his daughter razia sultan became first ruler of Indian subcontinent. She made an African slave Yaqoot his prime minister. Yaqoot and razia became closer and closer. They were romanticized by masses but many historians deny the fact. She was overthrown by people who made her sultan. Her brothers were an insult to throne ( Rukun Al Din Firoz and Muiz Al Din Bahram ). Iltamish's son Nasir was a pious Muslim. Nasir had no interest in throne so his father-in-law Ghiyas ud din Balban took control after his death and became Sultan. He was a just ruler.His grandson Muiz Al Din Qaiqbad succeeded him. Muiz Al Din made Jalal ul din Khilji his Army Commander. Khilji killed Muiz Al Din and his son seizing the throne. This was the end of Mamluk dynasty and beginning of Khilji empire.
