Just watched the second act. UNDERSTUDYS??? EVERYONE was just INCREDIBLE and kudos to the set designers, builders, painters, and the lighting and sound folks and to the AUDIENCE who reacted PERFECTLY to every song and dance. Watching this actually made me feel like I was actually watching THE STORY and not just a musical! THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!!!!

When they say understudy does that mean someone was sick, or they devote one night with all the second hand cast?

Just watched the first act. AWESOME JOB! Back in 2019 I was involved with a local community theater production of MAMMA MIA. We sold out every performance, and had to add more because of ticket demand. I started working on the next show while MAMMA MIA was still running...we were going to do PIPPIN. We got all the costumes done, rehearsals, sets built, songs and dances learned....and 48 hours before opening COVID shut it all down. Looking forward to seeing the rest of THIS show tomorrow! BRAVO/BRAVA!

These are all fictional characters, I don’t think it really matters. Also these were the understudies, meaning they were the second best at the role and were supposed to perform in case something happened to the main cast. So I think it’s best to have these very talented actors playing the roles than someone else just cuz they’re white.
