I have to disagree, the reason they mentioned the ergonomics of the carrier is because that is what takes and distributes the weight evenly instead of straining the back. I carried (and exercised with) my boys until nearly 3 (obviously when they are older they walk but in certain instances it's easier to fire them on your back/front on long walks or going through an airport... and strapping them on at home to dance to make them happy and get your cardio in :D)
