How did you reclaim that group of pyro with one command?

With grid settings i use hold alt then 'e' to reclaim and drag a circle, good for eating wind farms as well

how can you figure out how higher experience will affect a unit?

If you mouse over it’s stats it tells you the %increase on stuff like damage, range, attack speed, hp etc. different units get increases in different things
