I went to Mammoth Cave this past weekend. I was amazed by this beauty, and at least the Park Ranger was honest about how the land was taken and led to resentment for many years.

21:40 Floyd Collins (the greatest caver ever known) speculated the cave systems were connected way back in the early 1900s. He was finally proven right in 1972.

19:41 The laughter after mention of conspiring... Then bringing the gentleman back to see his bullldozed home is chilling. "Absolutely ignorant" an interesting description of a fellow human who may have described a goverment official using the same terms.

I hope that old Man still haunts those who conspired against him and bull dozed his home I can't imagine his heartache, they literally (intentionally) crushed his soul...so after awhile I'm sure he got his 'revenge' I'm some small way. But the guy laughing about it is despicable, and shows his character. Just remember karma has everybody's address...and taking someone's land and home and justifying it by saying it was 'for the good of the people' in my opinion is like murdering someone because they had dandruff.

Back in the 90's I took many hikes around the area and back woods along Flint Ridge and in the area of the Crystal Caverns historical area. I found many remnants of the people that once lived in the area. Foundations and stone structures. But like everything else - the good of the whole out weighs the good of the few. It's a sad story but what they have today in the region has proven they did the right thing. It's a beutiful area unlike what has happened in many areas of our Country in the name of progress.

A big reason i heard a gentleman mention was the combradiery if just one had something they all had what they needed we as a society have been guided away from that imagine if this was the reason or the need to disband the people of this area just a thought

You are correct, however when it is your family that is being displaced I believe you would feel different about the outcome. As a matter of fact, why don’t we just kill 50-80% of the world population so the rich will have a prettier world to live in? Yes, people like you make me angry because you don’t care what happens to people like me if it makes things better for you and that is what happed at Mammoth Cave and many of our National Parks.

I am glad you do. I come every year for my wife’s family reunion. We have traveled to the grave yards that still exist (By the fire tower) and the family homesteads. I am sure you have listened to the stories from your family members that were removed as I have. Most of them are leaving us now and I simply want people to never forget what has happened in places like this. Watch the video again. A daughter, tricks her father into leaving his house, so the rangers can bulldoze it. Do you think he spoke to her ever again? How would you feel if your land bordered the park and they decided to expand? Then they condemn your well and make you move out. Condemned property that is not usable isn’t worth much, so they offer you 10-20% of the former value. By the way, they will win in court. This happens today. Yes, I am dramatic. Because too many people believe that anything the government does is ok if they do it to someone else.

The Government did some evil stuff with these people. No way will I vacation to an area devastating people during the hardest time of their life.

My ancestors said that they had to see a lot of parts of the cave because of extraterrestrials Agatha some so-called conspiracy theory stuff that’s why they specifically chose that area. I wouldn’t put it past some of our officials that have been in government especially if money is involved. They could care less about family and and someone’s home. Elderly or sick.

Mammoth cave is a cave, it's underground. There wasn't any reason to take those poor people off of that rich land and from their homes.

lee Spurlock Would it be better if a city grew up around the cave? Would it be better if the cave was used like a natural dumpster? It would be more wrong if they took their homes and land to build roads and factories etc ...... .

I think they found out about the Agartha entrance. Turned it into a park etc. to keep track of what was going on there. These people are lying through their damn teeth. Native Americans , Indians , many people, my ancestors etc all speak of the government control of some of these entrances needed to be watched or protected. They didn’t treat the people right at all!!!!
