Did McColl actually climb this in the end? He almost gets it early in the video then, later, the footage starts just after the crux; I'm wondering if he did the whole thing in one push. As an aside, I remember trying the first few moves of Hubble only months after Ben Moon first did it. What an embarrassing, sad ten minutes that was....

met him a few times, that's how he is! great guy though :) and the vid proves that Hubble might be the first 9a in the world. i remember Ben working on it more than just a few weeks like he said in the video

Agreed. You think he might have shown a little interest in one of the best climbers in the world coming to try his route. But no, looked like a rock star answering the usual, boring questions from an interviewer.

Have you ever been filmed for anything? I'm pretty sure if I was getting filmed there I'd feel fairly awkward, especially talking about something I'd done 24 years ago to a total stranger!

2 kinds of climbing people I don't trust/like. 1. Someone who stand at the bottom physically rehersing the moves. 2. Someone who dies the grey out of their hair.
