Sorry I have to desagree, I had the luck to could observe many kinds of snakes and can ensure you that I think I never saw an ophid yawn before the meal! But, very often, after the meal, to put all their jaw bones back in place. It's said that a snake can ingurgitate 4 times the size of his own jaws. Greets.

@@teston2testude it is only ONE OF the reasons snakes yawn. You are right, they do yawn to put their mouth back in place but they also yawn to prepare for large meals. There is plenty of evidence that they do if you only took the time to look. Also even though you have never seen them do it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Obviously we will not know which reason is displayed in the video, I was just making a joke out of a possible situation.

For info a good friend of me had also a python like that living "at home" for years. All was ok, until one day when the snake attacked her at the mouth and nose, and tried to strangulate her, she spent an hour with her arm blocking the contractions of the snake before someone could make her free. Snakes are lovely, but, like always, we have to know what to do! Keep going, you rock, I love man and beast!
