These Captains should be prepared to immediately get their boats out of the water instead of sitting there, unloading, preparing for transit, waiting for the tow vehicle.....Excellent job of approaching the dock.

Yeah it's cool how the seat goes up like that. Whats not cool is occupying the dock for a half hour with the trailer in the water, doing a bunch of shit that could easily be done on the trailer up in the parking lot or back at the final destination. I'd be like "HEY DUDE!" Off load the comforters and blankets and shit once you're hauled out!

Rule number one for all beginner boaters…. First priority is to load or unload your boat as quick as possible. Do not pack your crap up and get your cooler, bags and other crap situated until you are off the ramp and out of the freaking was…. You are blocking the ramp it is very inconsiderate

the twin 300s are way cool, I bet he does have the joystick, to do that rt engine in fwd and left engine in rev takes SKILL, it workes better if the motors are further apart OR like he has got them going "differential" for maneuvering the direction of the bow without running the boat forward - same for when he moved the aft into the dock without going aft or rotating one bit - darn good skill and a very sweet ride.

I've never seen so many people who didn't know how to pull a boat into a dock. 45 degree coming in, get close, hit reverse, turn the wheel the other way and you will snug right up. Basic boating. The guy in the Regal and most of those folks messing around loading and unloading people at the dock is ridiculous. All that stuff should be done before you put your trailer on the ramp and when you leave pull out and do that stuff on land. On the Texas Gulf where I trailer a 33 ft boat similar to the Regal and a 23 foot fishing boat, I would be shot if I did those things. Two minutes on the ramp is all any boat needs....whether launching or retrieving.
@jimmyjohnstone58782 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Basic skills which ensure safe docking don't take long to learn if people had the sense to take instruction. As you say, 40-45 degree angle at low throttle, into neutral, then opposite lock steer with short burst of reverse. Boat ends up parallel to the dock. Using stone harbours on NE Scotland harbours...I had to be able to do this or serious damage would be done to the boat. Not to mention the embarrassment of being watched by the fishermen as I mess it up. Don't these people care about damage or being seen to be stupid ?

the reason the motors go in opposite directions is due to the use of a joystick to control their movements…. the joystick is programmed to allow the boat easily do 360 movements and easy docking…. this type of control will also allow you to use GPS to keep you stationary in almost any situation (from waiting on a bridge or even staying over your favorite fishing spot)…

Probably thought of by a small peckered man that thinks the size of their toys resemble the size of their boyhood (manhood). Pal you could have bought a larger sized Bayliner for less money that is the same quality as that crap Regal.
