Man Caught With SUV Inside U-Haul Truck

It’s not every day that you see a U-Haul truck hauling another SUV - especially with only one strap securing it. But it happened four hours east of Seattle. Troopers pulled the driver over and looked into the situation. “If you look at the photos, it's hazardous,” Washington State Trooper John Bryant said. “ I mean, there's no bones about it.” He spoke to Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall about what occurred.

Idiots like this is why I avoid following people carrying anything that doesn't look safely strapped... including mattresses on rooftops, landscaping trucks (rakes, tools), sofas "hanging" over the tailgate, pallets piled higher than "normal", "bouncing" boats or "fishtailing" trailers, etc. Best is to either slow down and give them space or get the hell away ASAP! 🤗

I was once on the freeway behind a truck that was loaded with boxes that weren't strapped. It was high traffic at the time so the drive was slow at first, but when the truck sped off his boxes flew off like projectiles and a small one broke my side mirror. No they don't, I used to rent them at the car lot I worked at and all we had to do was make sure that it was them, that it is within the expiration date, and make a copy. So it happens alot.

I'm a structural engineer. The weight of the vehicle is mostly forward, with the majority of the weight in front of the rear axle of the hauling vehicle. The towed vehicle was left in 4 wheel drive, with the emergency brake on. The strap used is rated to 15,000 pounds. This was completely safe.

Yes, it's completely safe. However for normal people that "looks" unsafe, and they will call the cops on this guy. While they tow a heavier load their trailer is rated for at 75mph, with little tongue weight, probably strapped with the cheapest ebay 500lb ratchet straps that were sitting for months in their backyard under rain, sun and whatever else. kinda ironic, isn't it?
