It’s almost like you have to switch up tactics according to the team you’re playing against 🤯 Do you truly believe that clubs should play the same way they do at home when they go away to teams that are arguably better than them? 😂 Did West Ham and those other teams play low blocks against teams they were arguable better than?? 😂 Of course it’s frustrating for the team that’s trying to break down the low block, but it makes complete sense that teams like West Ham would use that tactic against clubs like Arsenal. Everytime you’ve watched them this season they’ve played at Spurs (without Declan Rice & Ødegaard), with 10 men for 45+mins against a Brighton side whose manager was awarded manager of the month because of how well he’s got them playing, Atalanta away (following a tough game at Spurs) and now City away with 10 men for 45+mins. They’re defensive when they need to be. I also said it makes sense to play a low block against a club that is arguably better than you. Are you convinced the Arsenal team that played against City were the better team? The scoreline at least said we were before we went down to 10 men and that scoreline was what it was because of smart tactics employed by Arteta. Simple as. Our defensive ability, especially without Ødegaard in the team, is our biggest strength. Only a fool would choose NOT to lean in to that to beat Spurs away, Villa away and of course Man City of all teams away from home. The Doku situation wasnt remotly similar and Robbie knows it. Trossard got a yellow because he booted the ball to uranus. Doku passed the ball to the spot the ref told him to pass to. Thats not delaying the restart. Thats quickening it. If you give up a corner and pass the ball to the corner thats not delaying the game. Kicking th ball isnt a yellow. Delaying the restart is whats a yellow.

These are the facts of the game: 1. The ref made a mess out of it from the first whistle. 2. Arsenal were being dominated until their first goal. 3. Arsenal first goal might not have happened if the ref restarted the game with a whistle (like he should have) and from the right spot. 3. Arsenal's second goal was also questionable given that 3 players were literally not even looking at the ball while blocking him in, in his own box. 4. Trossard's second yellow, is just his own making and not the same as Doku passing it back to where it was supposed to be taken. But that does not mean that there is inconsistency. Reff'ing in general is awful. 5. Arsenal were almost perfect in their game plan and defending when they were 10 men. I would not fault them for the goal. I said almost perfect because when they had the ball they could have held it a little better to kill time than just kicking it up field. Overall the only thing to complain is that the outcome of the game was decided by the ref rather than the 22/21 players on the field.
