What worries me is Khus and Reis appear to be project players when we need ready made players. Marmoush would be great, and I would even take Khus as some kind of fill-in, but any players that we sign who are not ready made for Jan seem to be an odd decision

@@MCFCTheMadHatter I would take a ready made rb, but honestly - Khusanov may be young and inexperienced but he has played in Ligue 1 and Champions league. I think he can do a job for us already - especially when you consider players are getting back fit now and he would only have to be good enough for rotation - imo this will do for the defensive part, atleast for now. i'd go Akanji, Ake, Dias, Josko and then use Stones, Rico, Reis and Khusanov for rotation. That's pretty solid imo Club is focussed on the future - And tbh if we get Marmoush in and a proper dm - 6/8 then I think we can get 2nd place. Plus we have Diabilito coming in and Bobb coming back. I've criticized the club ALOT these past months but I do think they're doing everything right atm.

@@HerbalMCFC My criticism is IF we end up loaning Khus and not putting him in our first team. IF he goes into the 1st team and we play him 10-20 min per game and let him grow into the team while giving Ake or Akanji or Gvardiol etc a little rest here and there, then i am all in. Just depends on what the club does. I am over the moon for the next Egyptian king to come to us in Marmoush lol. But we need a DM so bad and yet there is nothing to speak so far which worries me.

Love Pep but I don’t think there’s a manager out there who better than him at alienating former acad players who have been invited into the first only to never be given any time. The only player I can think of who did was Foden. I really hope it turns out to be another Palmer situation if Mac leaves so Pep will be forced to rethink his arrogant stance on giving former acad player at least a little bit of time here and there instead of virtually nothing

It's baffling to see the likes of Macatee and OReilly not getting even 10 mins despite City going through the worst phase in a decade...this surely demoralises academy players who are hyped up when they first burst onto the scene only to leave the club without getting significant time to prove themselves...same as pellegrini who failed to implement "holistic approach" though he had an excuse of not having such talents at academy that pep had

I like that we're looking at alternative markets to get young players before they blow up, but at the same time buying the likes of Reis, Khusanov and Echeverri sends a message to the academy players that they'll probably not have a future at the club. Pusey been good in a poor side and yet he's being "rewarded" with the club buying 2 players basically his age for like 70m combined. We NEED to make the use of the academy a priority when the next manager comes in after Pep leaves, we're wasting too much talent.

I think the problem we have is giving youngsters enough games to develop, when you have an injury crisis, that’s the time for us to develop some of the young lads. We haven’t done that. Ultimately these young lads will leave (I think McAtee does this window) then prosper after a season or two at a club that isn’t under as much pressure to deliver big trophies. I’m certain McAtee will be a great player, one that will be worth a lot of money, like Cole Palmer, THB and more. Had this been managed a little better we may not have needed to spend so much in this window but here we are 🙈 lessons to be learnt going forward 100%

@JSGC171 exactly, I really hoped that the good that would come out of this injury crisis would be the promotion and the solidification of some young players in the squad but the opposite happened and now it's clearer than ever that we're not going to have an academy heavy squad with Pep in charge. Hopefully when he leaves that is made a priority by the club to the next manager, but it sucks seeing so many talented guys, that, like Foden, could be living the "Citizen dream" leaving without even given a fair chance to show what they could do...
