had a date for dinner, reservations for 7pm, told her I will be at her place for 615pm, traffic was a bit light so I got there for 605, knocked on door at 610, she just got out of the shower and said she would be ready by 630 and told me to wait in my car, I waited till 631 and she wasnt even dressed yet, still in her bathrobe when she answered door at 631... all I said was "Kewl, ok" walked back to car and was 5 min late for MY reservation... she called me at 740 asking where I was parked and was ready to go... told her I was parked in the parking lot.... she said she didnt see me, told her of course not, Im parked in the parking lot AT THE RESTURANT... one of the best dinners I had in months, had the opportunity to really enjoy the food and atmosphere and not be distracted by someones babbling complaining about the food and etc...

I went out with a crazy lady perpetually late but the World ended if I was 30 seconds late. Dinner at 6:00 pm usually meant 7:00 at the earliest! One time I waited for her call for two hours but she said she forgot, even though we'd talked two hours earlier! I'd had enough and broke up with her on the phone! I had serious emotional investment in this woman but it wasn't reciprocated and while a bitter pill to swallow, I realized she was basically Cancer and needed to be removed from my body and surgery was the only option! She remained like this for many years, never got married and now lives with a daughter and is retired! I'm pussed I actually let this go as far as it did! Respect needs to be shown by both parties or it just a port in a storm!

I had a first date with a girl at a Red Lobster. I got there ten minutes early and she's already at the bar, which I thought was a little odd but really didn't give it much thought. So we get a table, menus, and she orders an alcoholic drink which annoys me a little but I let it slide. The waitress comes back to take our orders. She orders an appetizer sampler platter, another drink and then orders the most expensive dinner they have which was some combination of three different meals and then she orders ANOTHER one of those to go! I'm just rolling my eyes at this point because she's going to be in for a shock when she finds out I'm not paying for any of her part of the bill. Anyway, fast forward to me getting the bill and that's when I found out that she got there an hour early and had ordered several expensive alcoholic drinks before I arrived. The total bill was about $170 (this was a long time ago when things weren't so expensive). My part of the bill was about $20 for dinner and a soda, so I gave the waitress $30 in cash, told her that was for my food plus tip, said "nice to meet you" to the girl, and left her there with the most stunned look I've ever seen on someone's face. She blew up my phone trying to call and text saying she didn't have the money to pay the bill and what a piece of shit I was, but I simply drove home with a smile on my face.

Met my husband as a blind date. We had a great time,he made laugh and was a great guy. At the end of the date his car had a flat tire at the restaurant,which was going to get me home later then what I told my parents. He called my father and explained the delay. I met my wife at a party. She made a comment about how unconfortable her contact lenses were. I mentioned that I was going to get laser surgery to correct my miophia a couple of days later. My plan was to call for a taxi later and go home to recover (I did not have anyone to help me in the city.) She showed up that day to the clinic by surprise, helped me home, and helped me through my recovery. That was the most beautiful thing some almost stranger had done for me in my life. 15 years and 2 kids later, we still carry each other when we cannot see the way.

MANY years ago, when i was in the military (I am in my 60's now), I went to pick up a girl for a first date. I drove up in a Brand new Chevrolet El Camino. I was single for a length of time after my first divorce. I didn't leave my marriage alone, I had three small children ages 4, 6, and 8. He cheated multiple times while we were stationed abroad and I had enough. My dating went from being married to my high school sweetheart (13 yrs.) to a single mother of three. When I finally agreed to be "setup" for a date by friends I was left at a movie theater, at a restaurant, and at horse stables by men I fully explained my status and talked often about what happened to me and what I came with children & job wise. You see I was a military translator and interrogation specialist. Men were scared to death to know what I did for a vocation. My second marriage failed (11 yrs.) due to intimidating background as well. I would never date one of my Operators and men seemed to fear me regardless. Now I'm older and just a home in rural Arkansas with my childhood friend, my 70 year old mom, my two youngest special needs adult children, and my senior high school age son. Yes, five children between my 1st and 2nd marriages. My childhood best suffered a serious TBI in the Army years back, and he's not always the smartest thinker but he loves me, even with me being in a wheelchair after three major spinal surgeries gone wrong after a broken spine. Is he the love of my life, maybe? Do I love like some other women can, probably not because of life experiences. I love him and the family we've made for ourselves regardless of the depth and despair at times. It's been hard knowing that I'm not the woman I used to be but we're all family and friends in our home. We work at it no matter what.❤

That's 100% on the establishment. Even if they've been taking a long time to finish up, there are ways of handling this situation respectfully. Turn off the music prior to closing as a hint its time to wrap things up. Don't continue to wait on them. Give them the bill. Let the customer know they're closing and offer them an option to have their food wrapped up.

If its on the bar in a dish, its normally free for the customers, like peanuts, ketchup packets, stirrers, and straws. They are even a free extra when they are added into the drinks they are supposedly for. Sure, a person could argue that the price of the orange is included in the price of the drink, but we know the drink isnt cheaper if they hold the orange, so its reasonable to assume its not included in the price and is free. Its a free orange. I wouldnt pay for the free orange, would give zero tip, would never return, and would tell others not to go there. If she wants that orange to be expensive for someone, it will be expensive for her employer in lost business.

I would not have ended the date with the girl who didn't want to eat because her date wasn't hungry and did not want to eat. She may have gone overboard with the argument, but she was probably feeling guilty eating in front of him. The fact that she cared enough about him to not just say OK and gobble down the food as many girls would, along with the fact that she was willing to settle for fast food, is a plus in my book. She seemed sweet and caring. I would have continued the date and see where it went from there.

And what they think looks "sweet" 2 months in is a nightmare 7 months in, when this person is actually acting angry and irritated and blaming you for not reading their mind and/or wanting to do the things they want when they want to. Forget having friends. At first, they'll just text or call you several times while you're out with friends, or at some function or even just helping someone move. Then it moves into trying to guilt you- "well, ill just be sitting home alone waiting til you get back, all by myself". Then it's actually starting arguments about it whenever they find out youve made plans. Imagine this about EVERYTHING- eating, when you want to sleep, if you want to go visit family, even just stopping by mom's or dad's or a sibling's house for 20 minutes on your way home from work.
