@@LBdreamin @GeeEee75 The dog has to be the leader in scent detection because they have to work independently from the handler. If the dog takes cues from the handler (even if they're inadvertent on the part of the handler), the dog might give a false alert. So, the handler's job is to tell the dog to search, and then follow the dog's lead (because obviously the dog is the one who knows if there's something to find!)

I picked up a wooden gift for my daughter whilst I was in Thailand. I forgot about it and never mentioned it to border force. My daughter found it had an infestation of wood worm and promptly called border and castigated them for being so slack. They came out to her house and took the item away!

It would seem with all the problems they have with the declaration cards supposedly being misunderstood, there would have to be a better way of doing that. Yes, the card is a legal document, however, that doesn't do any good if half the population can't read. There has to be a better, less time consuming way to accomplish the declaration process!

it's not a policy that's only enforced by Austrlian immigration. Every border control enforces it. If you lie on your declaration, it's grounds to bar you from entering the country.

hi border security, I have a question. I've been travelling in and out a lot through the past 20 years. Early the 90s and 2000 every time the plane coming from overseas is sprayed with insecticide when it comes to land. But in the recent years i've travelled, i've never seen they are doing that any more. Why? Shouldn't Australia need to be more precautious against the increase number of travellers nowadays bring diseases to Australia?

Simple. In Singapore, the vast majority of people with tattoos have criminal connexions. An Australian or Canadian passenger from any background wouldn't attract attention for having tattoos, nor would a Polynesian. In a country where tattoos are incredibly rare among law-abiding people, it's a different situation.

SO How does someone prove they changed their ways and Attitude, when you find out they have broken the Law in the past, and they feel they should be allowed into your country? Tell me when your own citizens break your laws , Do you Kick them out of the Country until you feel they should be left back in??? Yes not fair to that Singaporean. He may have made a genuine mistake. After all he did admit to criminal charges (drugs) etc - probably in his teens or early 20’s. If he’s served his time and changed for the better, why not allow him in? It’s been more than a decade since his last offence.
