Dennis isn’t being a good friend he’s being a huge push over. Touching someone’s hand doesn’t magically put you in a trance where you lose all your morals and are automatically spontaneously madly in love. That’s ridiculous. No matter how attracted you are to someone that’s not how that works. The story isn’t romantic it’s gross. Not to mention the other guy then decided to continue to see her after the fact, you can’t even blame that on heat of the moment impulse, that was an active decision.
