I've read through many beautiful comments of people who describe being overcome with emotion at hearing these words. As a Muslim and follower of Imam Ali (as) l can explain it to you. Imam Ali(as) was known as The Lion Of God. Although he was blessed as the successor of the Messenger of God Muhammad(saw) he and his blessed and pure family experienced great oppression and suffered tremendously at the hands of successive usurpers and tyrants. Imam Ali(as) was a magnificent warrior who never abandoned his master the Holy Prophet(saw), he was the champion of the orphans and a guardian of the widows and poor. If you knew his story and that of his blessed family and his true greatness it would shake your soul and bring you to uncontrollable tears. Ya Ali.

This Kalaam always brings tears to my eyes. The man they're singing about is considered to be the Saint of all Sufi saints in Sufi Sunni Islam. His name is one of Allah's attributes, and the man was entitled "Lion of God", but still so many of his companions and 70+ family members were sacrificed to keep Islam from being hijacked by mis-interpreters and extremists. No man like Ali (PBUH) will ever walk the face of earth, and no sacrifice like his could be made. 😭❤️ May his secret be sanctified. ✋🙏🕌

For those who don't know: The composer of the Qawwali was: Hazrat Amir Khusro The couplet "shah e mardan sher e yazdan..." is written by Mueen ud din chisti aka Khawaja Ghareeb nawaz. The tarana( dara dil dara...) is written by Amir Khusro(composer of the qawwali). The last two couplets(haiderium, qalanderum...) are written by Sharafuddeen Bu Ali Shah Qalandar Panipati renowned as Bu Ali Qalandar.

Tears kept falling from my eyes listening to this. The first time I found this in my recommendations, I ignored but saved in my watch later. My life is very messed up right now. I have huge arguments with my family regularly. My exam went terrible I guess. I am just tired of everything. Its difficult to find any reason for happiness when your own family members stop understanding how difficult others life can be and not just theirs. I fight everyday...with their misunderstanding, my problems, outside elements but right now it just feels like too much. Is it even worth it? I am just seeking some relief from constant trauma. I just want to shut the screams inside my head. This is beautiful. All the best. You dont know how better I am feeling after listening to this. @@bigDaddy-lx9sn I'd like to correct you my friend. I am a naqshbandi Sufi Muslim myself. So let me explain little Sufism to you to educate. Sufism, also known as Tasawwuf, is mysticism in Islam. Sufi orders trace most of their original precepts from Muhammad S.A.W through Hazrat Ali. The overwhelming majority of Sufis, both pre-modern and modern, remain adherents of Sunni Islam. They consider Hazrat Ali as the father of Sufism thus Hazrat Ali is like a PEER or a spiritual master to them, all Sufis associate to a Sufi Tariqa, its like order of Sufism and every Tariqa was named after an Auliyahor Sufi Saint. Reflecting on that, Manqabats, Qawalis and all the other Sufi Islamic devotional signings and poetries praising Hazrat Ali are very central to the SUFIS, performed at Sufi shrines and dargahs. This poetry "Mun Kunto Maula" was written by a an iconic figure Amir Khusrow, who hapenned to be a Hanafi Sufi. So nothing here has ever beebn "uniquely" associated to a particular school of thought. I've never had a good relationship with God. Loosing my very religious mother to cancer ruined that relationship even further. But I feel very lost in life. I am unable to get myself worship in traditional ways. I was born in a Hindu family but the concept of religion is something I can never accept. I enjoy all religions, all festival. Especially music. I love singing and dancing. I feel closer to peace when I sing. This whole video makes me feel a bit anchored for some time. Like I do have some higher power taking care of me. If there is God, Thankyou for giving humans the ability to create music. ✨

Attended last night's Orchestra Qawwali concert at Glasgow City Halls as part of the Celtic Connections festival. The standing ovation (lasted around 5 mins) spontaneous and unanimous demonstrated the depth of appreciation and joy the audience felt by the audience for this performance. Central of course was the outstanding voice of Abi Sampa. But when all is said the cast of musicians in their entirety were integral and so wonderfully a part of this unforgettable night. Possibly the best concert I've ever attended.
