Idk how it works but its definitely a trick. Either they are acting or the grass they use is the type that is slightly barbed(ive been cut by tall grass plenty of time in my life) and if you put 2 thatches of grass together like that, there is a chance that the people holding the grass know how tto make it catch or its completely random. I cant aee any relations to how this could be a way to detect if someone is lying, its just way to simple.
