Not true about brokers. A broker can save you a ton of money over a retail shop and get you a better quality of stone at the same time. This guy? Don't know the deal with him, but brokers are legit in the same way as buying a lawn mower from a retail store - they don't make them either.

We don't know all the details because it seems there's no part 3, but the broker could have bought and paid for the stone on good faith which was shipped to him, and had to return it. If the buyer changed his mind, he's entitled to a restocking fee. If the broker went past the date agreed upon or otherwise didn't live up to the agreed deal, he should pound sand. My brother used to know a broker in NY and he saved us a ton of money on rare jewels.

I designed and had my ring custom made through a middleman. I had a paper trail including the drawing I made, and the render they produced, and a picture of the ring. He was a pain to work with, but he eventually got it done and shipped to me. The plaintiff is a little foolish. How do you not have a drawing or render of the ring you're paying for?... And the defendant is definitely taking advantage of the plaintiff's common sense.

I bought my wife's 75 point diamond from a broker and he had it set into a traditional 18K engagement setting. Took two weeks to get. Saved at least half over a retail store. That was over 40 years ago. When she had it cleaned and the fitting checked a couple of years ago, the jeweler whistled because it was nearly flawless.

In this case, expensive things. Tsk tsk tsk. You can’t buy happiness. It doesn’t exist on a store shelf, or on a showroom floor or in a parking lot. Happiness is a choice that you make everyday about everything in your life: “We live in a shack, but we have a roof over our heads and that makes us happy.” “The weather is beautiful and I’m happy about that.” “My wife loves me for who I am and I couldn’t be happier about that.” “This ring is plain and the stone is small, but my husband bought it for me and that makes me happy.” Such a simple fact, and yet so difficult to fathom.
