That’s exactly how I feel, too! It usually just ends on “A spider laid eggs in her!” and like…obviously that’s gross, but once that situation is over, it’s over. This is way more interesting. People becoming permanently feral monsters as a result is way, way scarier. It reminds me of the movie “Bite”, too. (Come to think of it, that also involved vacations, new marriages and secret beaches. Huh…)

I'm inclined to say the story is 100% bullshit.

Bed bug bites most certainly can cause swelling. I've never experienced swelling that bad, or that painful ever before in my entire life. It looked like someone had beat the crap out of me. My one eye swelled completely shut. It was the most painful allergic reaction that I've ever had. Even worse than bee stings. My arms and legs were twice their normal size.
